2022 LT4 Internals vs prior LT4
2022 LT4 Internals vs prior LT4
Anyone know the intimate internal parts changes/differences on the 2022 and up LT4s? |

Hi all,
I don’t know if there are any internal (mechanical parts) that are different, but the engine management software in my ‘22 ZLE M6 is miles above better than what my ‘18 came with. No more off idle stumbling, no more charcoal black wet exhaust tips, better gas mileage, and better overall performance. IMO, my ‘22 is a far better, improved car all around. JJ

Our GM Repair link was showing some different part numbers, but turns out that it is a mistake. No internal parts differences.

I read that GM changes part numbers whenever they change suppliers for a part even if specs remain identical, but I'm not on the inside, so not sure if that's the case here.

I might be wrong but weren't the fuel injectors also slightly changed/increased flow for 2022+ years?

GM changes part numbers on the same parts all the time.

It's for lot traceability. If you start getting failures / returns of a unit, or system, you can start using information like what part numbers changed around that time to help track down and troubleshoot issues. Sometimes it can be an entirely different part number, or sometimes just a revision. That comes down to company policy in my experience.

The injectors referenced above might be the Escalade V injectors, which flow a little more, but are physically smaller.
