Smart move! I changed mine at 1K miles after buying the car new, and was surprised how much gunk there was after the first 1,000 miles! That said, it’s been clean as a whistle ever since. I’ve changed it 3 or 4 times since then and it’s always spotless. So I really think that first one is the big one.

I agree, I did my rear diff at 505 miles and again at 1,500 miles, the first one was pretty nasty (break-in gunk) the 1,500 one wasn't too bad (but still some "stuff"), 4,000 was much better and the 8,000 was a non-event...

Cheap insurance, I'll change it every 2nd oil change from here on out...

Silver Pinstripe

Added a matching metallic silver 1/4" pinstripe to the main stripes to match the silver outline of the OEM GM hashmark decals. No one else will probably notice but me but it's all in the details and making it your own!

Oil and diff fluid change today. Definitely early on the diff fluid but given the comments of some on here I figured it was worth it to just do an initial change.

Sounded like m6 trans fluid change isn't super necessary like the diff, but I'm planning to do that at no more then the 50,000km mark regardless

The M6 being very simple to change, I would do it before 50,000 km. It’s nice to get that crap out of your transmission after break in, sooner than later.

Totally agree! The break in material that gets into the oil (trans/diff/engine/etc) needs to come out ASAP in my opinion. Future fluid changes are typically much cleaner afterwards based on my experience.

You’re speaking my language! I decided to copy your stripe idea…but, stopping at the lip spoiler and going over the roof and the front mid bumper ( still need to finish the front bumper) but, was seriously considering adding some charcoal metallic pinstriping to mine (before I saw this post).

What would you guys recommend? 10,000 km? 5,000?

Yeah 5,000 km is probably around 2,500 miles, so that is great if you can. If we’re wrong and it’s very clean, then you know you’re good to go for a while.
