Thoughts on upcoming mods - input requested
Hey all, I'm looking at doing the mods below to my 2018 ZL1. Let me know what you would change, what you think I'm missing, estimated HP gains, and if I'm just wildly wrong on something.
I know I'm missing shipping, tax, fluids, gaskets, bolts, etc. in this pricing Last edited by Nallek; 02-29-2024 at 11:15 AM. |

If you plan to run Flex Fuel you will need a low side.

Looks like the same setup I'm go to run. I have a JMS voltage boost. They are like $400.
If you stay with the stock pulley and run a JMS booster u should be able to run e50+. I have a thread below yours asking the same thing lol. |

I have headers, big gulp, JMS, flex fuel sensor, TB.... Im realizing that for very little money just for parts I could have a cam... Less the install and tuning.... I have everything else... Just need to install myself... NOT GOOD FOR MY WALLET.

Ported blower and bigger TB will improve blower efficiency, especially if you spin the blower harder. That plus the fueling to run E are no brainers.

X port, JMS, Headers, Rotofab, 103mm TB, E50. 680-700whp on stock pulleys.
Then if you want more, Port Injection and turn the boost up. I see no reason to tear these engines apart for a cam until you are trying to push past 800whp. These engines are plenty efficient as is to get up to that power. Just need efficiency mods and fuel supply to get there. Aside from that I like the BTR stage 1 better with the stock converter.

Haha, that's what I did. But it's mostly for show since I compete in car shows. |

I wrenched my own work on my 5th gen when I owned it, and the headers weren't too bad on it, but looks significantly harder on the ZL1. Plus, I don't have enough hands-on experience to feel comfortable attempting the cam or oil pump myself, its a laborious job. |

A friend of mine just got a quote not 24hrs ago to replace the cam bearings on her C7 stingray, and the labor was spot on with what I quoted above. |
