Even so it has not dropped any oil whatsoever on the ground. That area under the cap has been clean thus far. Trust me it’s been ragged on a few times since then as I’ve let a few close friends tear into it. I’m not a stranger to going fast lol. I’ve been over 200 on the street (stupid) and over 205 at the Texas mile in my c6 vette. Since then that 800whp sbe motor has come out and a new fully forged 416 with ysi blower is in and running. Just waiting on a tune (hoping for over 1000whp). I also have a 2016 Denali with the l86 that I pushed to 700whp with PRC heads, cam, e85 and Procharger. Unfortunately the tensioner failed and pistons came up and met the intake valves destroying all of them. Me and buddy fixed it in my driveway but I removed the Procharger kit. My goal for the ss is around 600whp na. Any recommendations are welcome but I’m thinking Ported msd, larger tb, headers, cam (looking at a stage 1 non afm/dod cam from Texas speed). I believe I can swap the PRC heads and zl1 hpfp and injectors from the truck over to the ss. I can do the work myself. I am really thinking about adding a very small shot I nitrous, maybe 50-75 shot. I have been a gear head since the late 90’s (showing my age) and have had turbo, pd and centri blowers, n/a but never experienced nitrous. I think it’s time. Thank you guys for the responses. Oh I have vids of everything I mentioned above just in case anyone calls bs lol.
G2's on the rears are notoriously bad for the power the car has. It is an all season tire, so expect less traction than the stock summer tires. So yes your TC is going to kick in more often. In summer my Eagle SC3's work just fine and I can basically hammer it at 30mph and not spin the tires. The stock summer tires on these cars you will have issues when the car shifts at 60mph which is why I switched to the 305's instead of the 275's on the rear. The width of your rear tire is fine, its the type of tire you are using that is going to hold you back and cause problems.

I believe you. These tires are garbage. That is what came on the car when I bought it. I may go with 305 pilot sport 4s in rear.

Those Nittos were on my car when I got it, they were junk. Been running Conti Extreme Contact DW06Plus for a couple of years now and very happy with them as a daily driver

Yup, OP needs proper tires. Michelin Pilot Sport 4S and Continental ExtremeContact Sport 02 are the best for normal usage (street, various types of weather, not drag strip, not road course). The difference will be huge even at 275 width in the rear.

I for one would not compromise my V8 Camaro with all-season tires in San Antonio, it would make sense in the Northeast or in Oregon etc., but there's no reason to the sacrifice the high performance summer tire edge 24/7 in the South. I drove my PS4S sets all the way down to 36-38 degrees, they were perfectly fine.

Agreed. I just purchased two 305/30-20 MPS 4S. Should arrive later this week. I took those nittos up to 140 starting from 60 and traction control kicked on immediately and the car was swaying and just felt terrible. This was in touring mode, track mode I was able to keep the car straight but traction was obliterated. I have had good luck with the 4S as those are what I ran on my Vette at 800whp. I now have toyo r888r’s on the Vette and they are marginally better traction wise but street manners kinda suck. Plus the whine at anything over 30mph is atrocious.

Heh, I tried those Toyos, too, and thought "what's a little whine, it'll be okay"... well I thought wrong, it was a permanent, major annoyance. Maybe others have less sensitive ears, but I just had to sell them almost brand new, the noise was a complete killjoy (sigh) and traction wasn't leaps and bounds better either.

The one drag radial that many here swear to as a truly streetable max traction tire is the Nitto 555 RII (definitely not the G2), but then I don't like completely mismatched front and rear, not sure what a drag radial like the RII up front would do to my steering precision and response, and there is no way I'll put those G2s up on the front either. So, every time this came up, I just went for the PS4S after all...
