DIY windshield repair?
Hi fellas,
I have a very small chip, no crack, on my windshield exterior. Any recommendations for repair, DIY or take it to a pro? Thx, Chris |

ChrisFix has a few youtube videos on repairing small windshield chips using a resin-based filler kit. I bought this kit on amazon and will attempt this DIY solution on my wife's car this weekend: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00EIIH6PC

Most insurance will waive the deductible and companies like Safelite will come to you. Safelite has done a few repairs for me. The last ones were pretty bad and I took it to their shop. I couldn't even tell where the repair was.

Rain-X Windshield Repair
I've used the Rain-X kit a few times previously and had really good success with it on rock chips and even a couple star chips that were less than 1/2" diameter. Can find it at Wal-Mart and its pretty affordable, easy to follow instructions.

Thanks but Please don't post, quote and bump it. Then we have more cleanup to do. Multiple people reporting is fine and keeps things clean.

I used the RainX kit a few years ago on a pickup windshield. The repair worked great and was invisible. I followed the instructions to the T.
