Astonishingly, I just decided to drive another 40 miles or so and magically things decided to play nice. Sure does seem like there should be an easier and more user-friendly method to get this done. But, I finally got through inspection, so I’ll hop off my soapbox for now.

Welp, shouldn't be to bad of a thread bump. I don't know if the OP will see this. I, in all actuality have the same monitors that OP had, not going to ready. I have put about 200 miles or so, mixing the GM drive cycle as best I could. Still nothing, and it seems like you got the fuel moniter sensor to eventually go ready. Is that really all it takes, was more driving? I just need 1 outta the 2 to pass and I know the O2 sensor, atleast from my experience is definitely not the one.

With some reasonable driving I was able to get all but the EVAP to run. The EVAP was much harder to get to run. AZ needs all the tests to be ready to pass emissions.
After 20 years of living in Phoenix, 3 months ago I just happened to buy a house a mile outside of the emissions zone (only if you live in the Phoenix and Tucson metro area do you actually require emissions tests) so I don't need emissions anymore. I haven't tested it lately to see if the EVAP test finally passed. Sorry.

Fvck emissions and this Simon says bullshit. Lol. My car was stored all winter as usual with battery disconnected. Car has to go through climate change re-education and get all the state snitches ready. I have 3 of the see something say something nanny state goons left to fool.

My car is pretty easy. It's ready for the inspection as soon as the battery is connected. Last edited by bishopts; 05-04-2026 at 08:02 PM. |

Thanks for the info. That’s along the lines of what I’ve been reading. Luckily in my state I can have 1 not ready which like you said is always the evap. I put maybe 40 mles on it today. I’ll chip at it more tomorrow. Headers are on the way but I want emissions done first.

Yeah so this is my first emissions testing with this car. After 5 drive cycles I still have 4 incomplete. Then I started thinking maybe my range device is screwing with these 4 incomplete monitors. Did a search and sure enough its a thing. So now I unplug and continue driving. But I also have AFM valve simulators plates. So now I'm wondering if those will screw this up also
![]() Anyone know? LOL

Are anyone of you who are trying to clear monitors but having a hard time with it either tuned or using HPTuners at all?

Ok so the range device is the culprit. Drove without it for a few minutes and it knocked off 2 incompletes. I now have just 2 remaining. 02 sensor monitor and the evap system monitor of course. I have 2 pending codes which I believe are just the AFM valve simulators. I don't believe they fail emissions for pending codes so I'm good there. Can't get this car through emissions fast enough. Last time it went into V4 was 3 years ago with the stock exhaust. Now WITHOUT the range device combined with my loud exhaust it makes V4 mode feel and sound like total shit. Cant be good for these engines to be doing that. Unfreaking believable!
