Is this out of place?

I noticed my coolant was a little low so i topped it off. I decided to look around my engine bay and something looks kind of out of place. In the picture below should that little screw thing be in that slot that i believe is a pump? The screw doesn’t seem to be a metal one. It could be a non issue but it caught my eye. I had my water pump replaced under warranty some time ago.

Just went outside and looked at mine. Mines plugged into that hole so I would just reach down and see if you can plug it in.

also its not a screw its just a clip. You just need to push it in. Commonly referred to as a Christmas tree.

Yep, now called “fir” tree fasteners for this that don’t celebrate Christmas.

In this case it is intended to button down that harness to avoid it moving around and rubbing or getting rubbed.

I tried to put it back last night and it was not happening lol. Had to use force to the point I thought I was going to break something. It just does not want to move back enough to fit into the hole.

Ill give it another shot, but I will probably wait until the warmer months and have my mechanic look at it. Car wont be driven much until the warmer months

Not surprising. You have a harness and a hose, taped together and both are pretty stiff and likely to and from different places. You may have discovered why it wasn't done at the plant.

Likely not a concern, but you may have to simply get a new zip tie with the fir tree on it re do it completely. Hopefully you can get it to work.

Yup I am actually just going to zip tie it for additional security. It seems pretty sturdy, not loose or anything so I do not think its a major concern.
