“My model year is the best” says everyone who bought that year. I have never seen anyone say I bought a 23 but think the 18 is the best, or vice versa. And if you are like a Corvette owner you can claim your car is special as it is one of X because it has Orange paint and red knee bolsters. Just a sign we all love our cars.

I will add that there is an inverse correlation there, too, this isn't a simple rationalization: I love my 2018 not because that's what I have, but vice versa, one of the reasons I have a 2018 and love that model year in the first place is those differences we all mentioned above. Anyway, now that I think of it, my 2018 is definitely a 1 of 1, there's no way anyone has the exact same mods plus the new panels the body shop put on after I wrecked her a bit, so I'm speeecial, too

I prefer 16-18 models than the 19 & up. When I went to buy mine there were 2 camaros next each others one is 18 & the other is 19. Same mileage & same color "Grey".
The 19 one looked ugly next to it & Just could not look at it despite the logical choice would be to pick the newer one. |

Sorry but the front bumper/facia of the 16-18 is so much better than the 19 and up. GM had to do a slight redesign of the of the front for the 20 as the 19 was so bad.
I do prefer the newer style of tail lights but the older design was fine. My 2017 has the 8-speed trans and it is the best auto trans in any automatic car I have ever owned. As for the extra pops and bangs in the newer cars, not a big fan. Let the ricers and Honda Civics with fart cans keep that for themselves. |

Might sound crazy but I prefer the 5th gen (specifically the 14-15 1LE and Z/28) front fascia.
As for the 6th gen I think the 16-18 does do a better job at keeping that classic, sharper look of the 5th gen. I love my smoked quad style taillights though, but am still disappointed that only the 1LE SS got to keep the nice rear diffuser that all 16-18 SS models had.

Human beings HATE change. I believe that’s the biggest reason a lot of 16-18 guys don’t like the 2020+. I too was one of them but eventually the 2020+ grew on me and became my favorite front end on a modern camaro (the SS’s at least). When the then “New” mustang came out in 2015 I HATED that it deviated away from the retro looks. 5 years later I was shopping for one (ended up with a 2016 Camaro 1SS instead). We are creatures of habit and do not like change. Saw one car magazine rag on the new s650 Mustang for not changing much aesthetically.

also you can't say the 16' looks more like a 5th gen. the base model 19-23 literally looks like it went back to 5thgen styling. The SS has a big flat front bumper like it's from a bygone decade, instead of the sleek look of the 16-18.
