Just put some mileage on your cars, make sure it experiences bitter cold and extreme heat to stress the metals in the muffler the crackles and pops will subside.☝️

My 2018 still pops and crackles, im in Iowa and my car isnt garaged. Extreme heat and cold. It however has only ever popped and crackled in manual mode when downshifting.

I’m so surprised that most of y’all don’t like the pops and burbles. Personally I love it.
So if I understood this thread right, does an axle back system reduce the burbles? |

I don't mind the pops, and with a manual it's not hard to "drive around" them. If you avoid rev-matching when it will kick up the rpm's too high, you barely get any pops. I usually come to a stop in neutral or just clutch in and brake, which makes the car literally silent. If you're driving a little more spirited and hit some downshifts to accelerate then it becomes more noticeable. Overall though the stock NPP has a damn good tone imo.

my 2023 ZL1 crackles like crazy bone stock. My 2017 Fifty Edition Camaro SS popped a ton as well but not as much as my ZL1.
It is all in the tune. There are quite a few things done on the ZL1 tune by GM to make it crackle a lot more. Some of the settings cannot be seen without some custom user defined parameters being exposed. |
