Can't imagine my kids being happy in Camaro coupe rear seat.
1) My seat back touches backseat cushion. No leg room in left rear. Little on right 2) Poor visibility for kids in back seat. View to front is front seat back. View to sides is minimal due to tiny rear windows and high body sides. 3) Little light comes in from back window 3) I decided long ago that Camaro is just for me and a front passenger. More than that necessitates using a different vehicle 4) I choose to drive a different vehicle many times anyway, since I live in a snow belt where roads are salted 5) Cheers to anyone that has kids that love riding in back seat of Camaro Last edited by LT1gen6; 10-18-2023 at 12:00 PM. |

I am 6'0" and could barely fit with my son behind me when he was 6 and not in a car seat, with my 5'4" wife and then 16yo daughter on the pass side. With a child car seat in the back, the kids' legs will be sticking straight out and you're likely gonna get some kicking plus footprints on the back of the driver's seat. Also, turn off the easy-exit automatic seat movement feature or it will smash your kids legs. Learned this one on a test drive.

The trunk has a pretty small infant containment system. You can put toddlers back there but with no way to keep them in place, when you take a turn too fast, they will bang into each other.

![]() They get bigger and start complaining about space lol. My son not pictured (front seat) barely fits back there being 5’11 now . I have a crewcab Silverado for family trips Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

You could look at a 5th gen. Not as new but has more space in the back seat. My kids at 5' and 5 3" fit but it is tight. If I were to buy a 6th gen they would see no advantage to the purchase.

I have looked into these too and they do feel like a great compromise, due to space. I understand they are a very good handling and driving car just not as good (12+ ss). I really enjoyed my LS2 GTO and G8 and these are a good mix. Both of those were autos and I'm set on a manual too, which is easy enough to find in the 5th gen Camaro

If space and performance are both at a premium than the boat was missed with the last generation Chevy SS, may it RIP! I really tried to get my oldest son to buy one.

I really enjoyed this thread. I have a rear facing car seat on the passenger side and its one of those where you leave the base in the car and just latch the car seat into it. Makes getting my son in and out a breeze! It makes the passenger seat very cramped but luckily my wife is small lol.
But now we have another little one arriving SOON. Unfortunately for me that means no family trips in the Camaro until my son is big enough for a forward facing car seat behind me, and our new baby can take the old rear facing one behind my wife. Having them both going forward facing will be great and I can't wait for that! We have had so many people joke about me selling my Camaro now that we have kids but before I can even respond, my wife is quick to say "No way, we both love it. It's staying!" I think I picked the right one!

Anyone under 5' 4" and under 160lbs will be comfy in the back seat. This covers most kids to a point. In my case, up to 17 yrs old. Entry/exit is awkward with the way the seatbelt is secured. They usually step over in my car, not under.

I previously had a 2012 convertible before my 2018 1LE. Both of my kids prefer the 2018 backseat surprisingly. They both said the seats are more comfortable. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
