pretty simple actually...

the check digit is always *0 because you are trying to solve for that

(letters have to be converted to digits using the last char of their position, so R is 19, so 9)

I used a static # of 174 (covers 1G1F... +R for year), but you could do the same as above

then I broke the SN down by character and then multiply in reverse by the digit... so 17=X*2, 16=X*3 15=X*4... engine code converts to 60 (6*10) on ZL1

you then sum up all the products to get a number then do mod 11 on that to get a remainder, if the remainder is 10, it translates to X as mentioned before.

so in bash syntax on linux:
prodsum=375 #just picked a random #
chk=$((${prodsum}%11))
echo ${chk} should return 1

then you loop that thru the 4 configs (a10/m6 + coup/conv) and you should get 4 different VIN #s based on the last 6 of the VIN

Can you output that to an Excel sheet and have the 4 different VIN combinations in lines 1-4 with each sequential VIN in every row and prefix each one with https://cws.gm.com/vs-cws/vehshop/v2...owsticker?vin= ? When I took my computer courses we were using Apple 2e's and 386's were just coming out, everything was saved on 5 1/4" disks. In my engineering courses we used chart plotters that tool felt pens. I'm a wee bit past figuring out how to get it working correctly.

I'm actually pulling the pdfs for all ZL1 coupes and I'll give you the VINs that actually hit with PANTHER Black so far I found the 42 CE Convertibles you have and 56 of the coupes so far (I'm about halfway thru the coupes)

once that run is done, I'll start checking the 2SSs and work my way down

Nice. Thanks. They're still coming off the line for a while so we probably won't get them all until close to Christmas.

Thank you very much, I've updated my script and now it's WAY fewer requests thanks to you guys. What took 10 minutes for 3 VIN sequences is now taking less than a minute!

Hadn't thought of that, personally haven't found any that didn't get delivered to US/CAN yet but I'll be on the lookout now!

I doubt you are going to find any code 9's. It would be worth looking if after you make a full run through off all VIN's and you don't get all 350. Some stickers take a while to upload too so you don't want to be too close behind production. Example: This car is built, VIN assigned but sticker hasn't uploaded yet.

Dang again, that skews off my numbering then. Funny enough I just ran into this exact issue, I jump from #114 to #117 and it can't find any in between stickers

I dont know how their production lines run, but I would think you'd have to find the different trims to find all the "sequence/ serial numbers" eg we know 100021 is ZL1 CE 001/350, but 020 is a 2SS metallic yellow

I've had it picking up all 4 of the combinations for the ZL1 but didn't know about some of the window stickers not showing up even for a freshly built car

I've just cross-referenced Wildcat's list against my own and will do it again with your list!

Edit: Just finished, your script is putting in crazy work! You got +15 unique, bringing the total up to 157/350!

out of all the ZL1s I found, 7 GM has kept, and so far I found 1 2SS they kept, its actually the 1st 2SS CE and its a M6 convertible, so looks like mine will be in good company, lol

https://cws.gm.com/vs-cws/vehshop/v2...FG3D75R0100065

EDIT: I found 65 CE 2SS's Convertibles. GM got the 1st one, which was an M6, 11 more came out after that, all the others were A10's...

now if my theory is right on the serial/sequence #'s the unit I'm waiting on for delivery was the 2nd M6 Convertible CE off the line, so I guess that's kinda cool... all the others came with higher s/n's

I did scan ZL1's with that 9 code, and there was nothing there as Wildcat suspected, but at least it was worth looking so we know that's a last resort if we can't find a few after the entire run is completed.

I'm pulling the 2SS Coupe and all the 1SS/LT1's now and hopefully there will be a bunch waiting in the AM

EDIT 2:
Pulled the 2SS Coupes and 1SS/LT1's interesting fact so far: 1 1SS CE was built, and it was the one GM kept.

Quite a few 2SS CE's were built but still nothing in the ZL1 numbers *yet*, still getting the 1/2/3LT's

ZL1: 109/417 coupe 44/284 conv CE
2SS: 51/ 869 coupe, 65/869 conv, and both bodies were 869?!, (I had verify that I didnt merge body styles in my query by mistake)
1SS: 1/236 coupe, 0/70 conv CE

LT1: 0/222 coupe, 0/120 conv CE

The s/n's are filling in as I pull the other other trims... *that* should give us places to look for gaps once I finish pulling the other trims in.
more to come as I crunch the #'s

Question for you all: How are you protecting your CE, I am looking at using the XPEL stealth wrap and contemplating only wrapping the front over the whole vehicle?
Here's one more for you guys: #054 just sold

WoW... you guys are killing it... I think I slept on this thread for a while..

Mine still has an Oct 23rd TPW and I heard a week or two ago that only 24 coupes were left to build so my number will be very high.

Also there were 10 that went to GM employees so not sure if that's part of the 50 or not.

I wonder if that is the cars that have this?

We haven't found 10 of the ZL1 CE's like that yet, maybe the employees can only get a 2SS or a unnumbered ZL1 like this?

Quite amazing you found 153! Most are duplicates but there were a dozen or so in that list we didn't have.

We have 3 between 100021 (Car #1) and 103817(Car #6) but there should be 4. We're not sure if we're missing #2 or #5. Any other way we could search for that one?
