I'm getting ready to do an oil change and rear diff fluid change. I'm going with ULTRA1 PLUS 75W90 full synthetic API GL-5 for LSD rearends. I'll let you know how my 2020 2SS likes it. Oh, and I'm going with Mobile 1 supercar 0W40 full synthetic for the oil change.

I changed my transmission and diff. for first time at 37k miles. Used gm oils. Got a pump at harbor freight for $6.

I do not like that the maintenance section of the manual for my '23 says "See Dealer" for differential fluid spec.

From what I read, synthetic 75w90 with LSD modifier is the correct spec for a '23 1SS M6?
The capacity seems quite low (~1.2 quarts?) so I'm planning on an early change.

22 SS1LE 6MT here

I changed around 1500 miles

Thinking to change again at 12000 miles

Should I warm up the car / fluid before changing or are you guys changing cold?

Why would you wait 12,000 miles to replace 2L of oil and a half hour of your time for the component that has to transfer your engine horsepower to your wheels at an abrupt underload 90° angle, Just curious?

It seems like overkill to be changing it at 12k miles? Isn't the spec around 45k miles? I changed it out during the break in period at around 1500 miles.

I think 40 -45k is good if not abused as in track use . I did my first tranny , diff. change at 37. I am at 70 k now and every thing is good. I bet most Chevy trucks used for towing don't get the care most Camaros get.
