Wheel & Tire Fitment
Hey everyone! I just picked up a 2016 Camaro 2SS with 6k miles about a month ago and am loving the car. My only issue is it currently has 22” rims with low profile summer tires on it which rub a little when turning hard and aren’t the best for ride quality.
I am looking to do a 20” square setup but have never bought aftermarket wheels so I’m not sure what will fit and I’m afraid of making an expensive mistake. I’m looking at 20x9 +38 offset all around but I’m getting mixed opinions as to whether this will fit in the front on a 275/35/20 tire. Any and all input is appreciated! Looking for no rubbing scraping or any issues. Thanks. -Matt |

If your running a 275 front you should go with a 20x9.5 or a 20x10. The 9" is too small.
I currently run a 275/35r20 on the fronts and 305/30/r20 on the rears with 5mm spacers all around. No issues with rubbing.

Got it, I’ll look into that thank you! The main confusion for me is offsets as I’m not sure what will fit. Is there a range I should be looking for that is safe to fit in front and rear?

You don't need spacers with 305/30r20 on the back

Front offset for 1le sizes is 20mm https://www.wheel-size.com/size/chevrolet/camaro/2020/ 2016 uses same offsets as 2020. Even non 1le use same offsets. Range tolerance is about (2mm to 4mm?) from numbers I provided. Front offset has to be correct for 6 piston brakes. 4 piston has no issue with 1le numbers. I would recommend a 19" square setup. Rather than 20" because it gives more options and availability for high performance tires and cheaper prices. Check Apex site for square setup numbers

Like the slightly wider look plus it corrects the rear offset from 43 to 38

I didn't need them either. Preferred them though. At 5mm all around it gave me that peace of mind the front tires won't rub the wheel well or that off chance I could damage the driver side rear harness (even though I did relocate it). And 5mm still gives me 9 full turns on the lugs and as hard as I push the car I haven't had any issues.
