I highly doubt that, Wyzz Kydd, I just respect the car's power and try to be defensive.

My Camaro is several times more capable as a car than I am as a driver. But, that doesn't have to remain the status quo, I'm slowly learning and improving.

I’ve owned three cars that I felt were more capable than I could fully utilize, my current Camaro, my 2016 Camaro SS and my 1993 RX7 twin turbo. All three need a more capable driver than me to be taken to their limits.

Maybe normal now, since many experience it but definitely not the way it should be.

I had about 1,000 miles on my 2017 ZL! A10 and couldn't keep it in my lane at the drag strip both with stock tires and DRs after the 1,000' mark.

This video was on the way to the track... and I chalked it up to un-even pavement but later on a nicely prepped track it continued to do the same thing.

I think the wiggle I’ve experienced is due to hard maneuvering on all seasons, though I’m sure a bushing upgrade would help too.

I’ve definitely noticed the difference from the Goodyears. I had little to no wiggle with them, but they were pretty much useless in heavy rain or when it was cold.

It’s funny how you get used to things over the years. I didn’t realize how much I took the Camaro performance for granted until I started driving my wife’s 2023 Telluride and realized no, you can’t stop on a dime, no you can’t take that curve at twice the suggested speed and yes most vehicles do in fact sway heavily into turns.

Question

6th gen Camaros are very stable, maybe that car, had a bad rear alignment issue, low pressure tire or was on a previous crash.

So true, brother. My empirical standard for braking and taking turns is pretty much the same (since I got me some fine 1LE wheels and brakes). I try not to drive the wife's SUV (it's a Traverse), because it feels like a giant cow after the Camaro.

Finally picked up an SS and I've had some time to get used to it. The one that I created this post about definitely had something wrong with it. Mine also has all seasons and is planted under wide open throttle even in 1st gear. I've gotten mine to break traction though, and it's not the same feeling as the one I test drove.

Hi Al. Found my way to this thread because I just picked up my first Camaro! 2018 2SS. Only 14,000 miles, had the original tires so I put on Goodyears.

My first WOT was from 35 ish and I punched it. I felt the wiggle and it felt like I just didn’t have all the power, but nothing cut out nor noticeable lights on the dash.then a similar thing happened on a merge.. is it safe to assume this is A mix of brand new all season, below freezing temps and the cars tech keeping me from getting sideways?

No audible squeal or anything just really not feeling it’s putting the power down and wiggling a bit. All other situation seems to be great, and I did a manual shifting second gear pull except I rolled into it and not punch… pulled like a champ.
