I think that was a smart move, anyone that has an order in now may or may not get it. If I was waiting for one now, I would be searching for one as close as possible to what I wanted. Good luck to everyone who's waiting.

It's looking like a good move every day that passes.

Why’d they have to pick Pearl Harbor day? Dec 7th will be a sad day. Not just for the attack now but the dnd of the Camaro. And not just for us 6th Gen owners but everyone who’s ever owned a Camaro from 1967-today.

It’s really one of the most authentically American cars ever made.

We’re losing our history and identity.

Well, talk about waffling. First it was a limited run, then "we will build more than in 23", then nevermind, not worth the effort.

Lansing Grand River extends production?

I thought since the Cadillac CT4, CT5, and the Blackwing sedans were built in LGR that those Caddie sedans would also be phased out with the Camaro to make room to convert LGR assembly to electric.

But now Cadillac says there will be (a slightly refreshed) 2025 CT4 and CT5 (and to stay tuned for 2025 Blackwing details). Production of the 2025 MY Cadillacs at LGR to begin in Spring 2024:

Unfortunately most of these decisions aren’t dictated at the manufacturer rather they are determined by lawmakers that have never stepped foot in a manufacturer and most haven’t actually worked a day in their lives. The domestic brands are hindered by reliance on the government for various reasons not the least being past handouts they have received. The imports have less reliance on the government and have more efficient and agile production with lower cost of labor and better quality control and overall better product. You notice how Honda (who has been in the EV game since the early 90s) and Toyota have taken a very calculated approach to electrification and they will ultimately reap the benefits of the domestics diving in head first and taking the multi-billion dollar loses. Many want to blame the leadership of the big three but ultimately they are beheld to their shareholders and those that hold their debt and that doesn’t allow them to pivot as easily as they need to. Many brands including GM have begun to do-develop and share technology to dollar cost average R&D and the brands that leverage shared technology will be the winners. Well those brands and the ones that can navigate the nonsensical regulatory environment that is being shoved down manufacturers and consumers throats.

Camaro Coupe - 12/7/2023
Camaro Convertible - 11/22/2023

The final week to order a Camaro coupe(if dealer has allocation) is 10/19/23. Convertible is 10/5/23

If I have a TPW of 10/16, does that mean my ZL1 CE will be made. I appreciate the info. I was hoping since they are numbered maybe that meant it would be?

Take a drive past your local auto row of dealers and count the number of new cars from the big three, next to zero. And it has been that way since the end of 2020 to the present. This is by design, what I find was my local ford dealer had zero mustangs but 32 march-e's. Dodge had some scats and hemi's but lots of dealer mark up. The push for EV's is from the top and DOT. So IMHO if you have an order for a 2024, I would be canvasing the chevy inventory for a 2023 as a backup plan.

For the last 3+ years, GM has not been able to build Camaro's to accommodate for demand.

No doubt. GM just gave up on the car. More Camaros could have been sold had GM built more. When I ordered a Camaro from my local dealer in December of 2021 I couldn't get an allocation. Luckily I found one in transit that had been ordered 8 months earlier. Because the person who originally ordered the car gave up on it being produced I was able to put a deposit down on it and purchased the car.

I don't have any inside information or anything but since they publicly announced that they were going to build 350 of them I'm sure they will prioritize building them over other ZL1's. It would look bad if they couldn't manage to build 350 cars.

Even if the news is bad, GearHeadSS, as always, does a great job keeping us all informed. I for one am very appreciative.

I was originally hoping that the 24MY production would be a full year and that I would be able to order in Jan-Feb of '24.

However, when GM announced a shortened '24 production run, originally ending in January, I decided to pull the trigger and get my '23 ordered.

Given the short '24 production year is now even shorter, I am so glad I did.

Best of luck to all of you who are hoping to get your orders built!

While not surprising, it is sad that the Camaro is going out like this.
