Clear sticker bottom near rear wheel

I've noticed this a few weeks into owning the car. Is this standard? What is this for?

PS. This is 2023 2SS Vert

It protects your paint from road debris, you should add it to the whole front end of your car hood and mirrors

PPF, typically the place where the tires kick up the most rocks

Yes, it's standard. Unfortunately it's also too small, the entire rocker panel should've been covered, as it gets a lot of small rock hits all around this piece of PPF, too.

It is strange that it doesn't go to the edge of the panel where the wheel meets the frame.

I wonder if this was installed by my dealer or this is GM stuff.

I can’t comment, because when I took my car in my paint protection guy has a cad for each individual car that requires protection, so it could very well be that mine was upgraded to protect that entire section from edge to edge in that area

2017s don't have that. You're saying Gew Emm actually added something to the build spec? Adding cost?! Say it isn't so!!!

That area gets pelted. It would have been great if GM had made it cover the whole section.

What? How exactly did you conclude that from what Gunkk said?

My 2018 2SS came with them installed. My 2023 ZL1 did not. Not sure why.
