I consider gen 2 & 3 to be large cars, but the rear seats are anything but.

they were not large cars. the 2nd gen started out the same length as the 6thgen, and got larger because the bumpers changed, and the 3rd and 4th gens had long sloping noses. the back seats were anything but popular with adults.
