Yes, they do. Rollover risk mitigation.

I made the upgrade in 2019 from a 2016 2SS to a very low mileage 2017 ZL1 and have no regrets. Neither car was a convertible. You might be happier with a M6 ZL1 but the A10 is no slouch as compared to the M6 6 speed! Get what you want is my advice but either trans is a win-win. Good luck!

Will the ZL1 A10 have AFM? “Active Fuel Management” ? I have read conflicting information.

I wouldn't do it. I've been driving nothing but manual sports cars as daily drivers for 20+ years, since I was a teenager. After having a C6 GS and then a C7 Z06 I talked myself I to trying the C8. Waited 1.5 years for it to be built. It was boring. I drove it off the lot in manual mode and only ever drove it that way to help keep the fun factor. Just wasn't the same as a manual. I've driven a camaro ZL1 with the A10 many times and it is a great transmission, but it's no manual. After a year and a half I dumped the C8 and bought a SS 1LE.

Why not a ZL1? Because after having the Z06 I was tired of having to be "on" 100% of the time. The SS 1LE allows me to flog it on my daily drive without having to worry about losing the ass end. If the camaro was a weekend toy then the ZL1 makes since but for me as a daily the SS was enough. I know others would disagree. Just saying, consider the daily driving application and if you want to constantly be worrying about throttle inputs

Most sound advice I’ve heard so far. I would agree.

Most of my performance cars (and all of my motorcycles) have been manual — C6 Z06, S197 generation Mustang GT, and now a ZL1. I also own a BMW i4 M50 which is essentially the electric M4. But even though the i4 is faster in a straight line, the lack of shifting kills the genuine engagement.

If you love manuals and have always driven/wanted manuals, get (or stick with) a manual. An automatic is going to give you buyers remorse, no matter how much the salespeople try to convince you to the contrary.

I went from a '21 LT1 M6 to a '22 ZLE A10 and love it. It is my daily driver and although every sports car I have every owned has been a manual, I do not miss it. If I am feeling froggy, I'll just through it into manual mode and use the shifter or paddle shifters.

Which is funny because I was at a car show this past weekend and all the old guys with their old cars, were mostly automatics haha

I have a ZL1 A10. There is no AFM!

I grew up with manual cars, and back then, automatics were miserably slow. I swore I would never buy one. But that was then, this is now. Modern automatics with paddle shifters out-perform manuals under all conditions, and there's no clutch to wear out. The paddles give you all the control you have with a manual, without the inevitable launch difficulties of a manual. I'm not a salesman, but I'm suggesting that a car with 650 ft lbs of torque might be better with an A10.

There's a reason European supercars aren't made with manual transmissions anymore.

As for Camaro verts, you can't drag race them without a roll cage so no thanks.

not sure if I'd go over 100 in any vert with no cage

back on topic, I like A10 during heavy traffic FL tourist season.

on the farm roads the A 10 is a letdown for me
