Of what? Seeing the posted limit signs? I don't understand, you're expected to know the speed limit all the time, whether or not your car offers any software help.

I like to always be able to see what the limits is at a quick glance when I’m not sure

So if your DIC doesn't show the speed limit, you can't be held responsible for exceeding it??? I guess the local authorities also can't hold you responsible if you don't see the speed limit signs they have posted throughout their locality. Just tell the officer you are legally blind and could not possibly be held responsible for any speed limit signs posted.

I'm guessing you noticed the PSL is consistently off by 5mph? I updated my 18 to 22 nav last summer. Many highways are still 5 off-could be just my state I suppose.

Also my 18 with Nav has always shown the PSL on the bottom to the left.

Didn't buy a Camaro to worry about the speed limit or gas mileage.

The speed limit in the DIC/HUD works perfectly fine for me. When I pass a sign that changes the PSL, the display changes to the correct value within half a second. (In fact, everything works perfectly on my car, hope I'm not jinxing it now, but I never had any other vehicle that I could say the same thing about. Every single piece of functionality works 100% of the time, even all my aftermarket stuff, crazy.)

The car does not honor any temporarily posted signs, of course, the nav is still not updated continuously like google maps or waze. I do have the 2023 map update, although I'm not sure how much that helps as the posted limits don't change very often on existing roads.

I've had NAV in all my cars since 2013 with the exception of my current company car, a VW Atlas. It does have Apple Car play and with a large monitor there is NO reason to get NAV in a car. Wireless Car Play (which GM is abandoning) has replaced NAV for me going forward. However, Google Maps only shows speed limits when you are in a trip. Otherwise you just get the map. But you do see traffic slowdowns, which with GM I believe you still have to subscribe to XM traffic to get the traffic to show up on your NAV.

Interesting, so the car knows the speed limit of the given road? I’d imagine it records this information. A gold mine of data for authorities…

Paying for nav in cars is always a losing battle. It never works as good as google maps-directions.

That said, somehow my Stinger with no nav subscription always knows the speed limits if I put it in map mode, even in Canada. Not sure if it's "reading" the signs or something.
