PRC LTX heads

Looking at these they seem to be a nice aftermarket head with some good flow numbers. Wondering if anyone has run these and what their thoughts were. https://www.texas-speed.com/p-9209-p...der-heads.aspx

I’m curious why you’re not considering katech or pray ported stock heads.

You’re not max effort or increased displacement, right?

Can anyone comment on the Katech ported heads and what improvements they saw?

Stock LT1 heads can experience core shift so porting leaves them weak. Even heard of coolant coming through an intake runner. Much better off with aftermarket heads. Substantially stronger casting with better airflow, larger valves, etc. plus a thicker deck which is perfect for boost. I’ve had great luck with the Mast Black Label ones.

Well besides what was said above which did end up happening i also have a valve seat that has come loose. Thank God i was removing for the head gasket issue cus that coulda been bad. Luckily i had 2 sets done i ended up using the one from the 2016 that had 98k on em. The other set i had done was my 2022 with 7k on them. But im just goin with a new aftermarket head this time plus they have 2.165 intake valves bonus

I have the PRC/LTX/TSP heads with no issues. I sold my stock heads on this forum. Did not want to port the stock heads for the reason that Josh stated above.
Last I heard TSP was about 4 weeks out on shipping the new heads. (but that was some time ago)
Josh has those black mast heads which are top of the line, but they are pricey!

This is all good info, I will be going with aftermarket castings with the larger 2.165" intake valve. Now to figure out which one to go with?

Combustion chamber size, flow numbers, price, availability… buy the ones that check the most boxes for your situation.
