Noise coming from rear (Dealership said it was tire noise)

Hey guys, as the tittle says I've got some weird and annoying noise coming from the rear of my 2016 2SS. It's a noise that changes pitch and loudness and you can start to hear it at 30 MPH. When I took it to my dealer they said it's just road noise from the tires. I've just got these tires and only put a few hundred miles on them so far (BFG G-Force Comp 2 plus) so I find that hard to believe. Is it possible it's a bad wheel bearing or god forbid something wrong with the rear diff? Here is a video I took with the back seat down to help you hear it. https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VE6swn3SD58 The noise you are listening for is that constant whine or growl that at the end of the video lowers as I slow down. Any advice or tips would be much appreciated!

Honesty, it does indeed sound like tire/road noise.

Not easy to tell from a video, as always (not your fault in any way). Could be just road noise because of the tires, but to me it's very loud and a bit too "metallic" for that, especially with these BFGoodrich all-seasons that are supposed to be quiet...

I would have a mechanic check the diff, because the bad wheel bearings that I heard emitted more of a low hum than this grinding that feels like gear noise.

You didn't notice this noise when the tires were new?
Can you say for sure the noise was not there when the new tires were first put on?

To me it sounds like a wheel bearing but like others have said video noise can be deceptive.

I listened to it again, sounds like a wheel bearing to me. How many miles on the car? Do you race it at all? Any other work done recently?

I had General G Maxx tires on the front of my car with more than half the tread left on them. Started sounding like the wheel bearings in the hub were going bad. Had my tire guy test drive the car and he said it was the tires. Hard to believe that a tire with that much tread left would be that noisy, but after a different tire manufacturer was put on the noise went away. The tires could be brand new and still be a noisy tire. Sucks but things like this do happen from time to time.

So you're saying that AFTER the tires were worn in a bit then the noise started? I have never had that happen. I had new tires that were noisy and after many miles they got quiet but they never sounded like what I heard in the OP's video.

Yes, after they had had a few miles on them. My wife's car did it on the back of her Mercedes C300 with Continental Extreme Cotact DWS. Things can be bad that are brand new.

I just took my car back to tire discounters to see if they can find anything with the tires. I honestly I hope at it is, is road noise but depending what they say I'll take it to a mechanic next.

I'm pretty sure that the noise started the last three hours of a 20 hour round trip (went on vacation). I thought when I first heard it that it was a some Honda with it's exhaust chopped off behind me lmao.

I've got 75k miles now and I do all the preventative stuff but of course that doesn't account for wheel bearings. The only other work I've done was an issue with the 2016's where my back axle fell off due to the wrong size bolts from factory. But my extended warranty covered it from my dealer so that was fixed promptly and hopefully correctly. I do wonder if the noise is related to that issue though.

Well that would be a first for me if this is the case. The summer tires that come stock were pretty noisy and didnt sound anything like this. Also the noise is only coming from the rear. I do have the same tires all the way around (minus the width of course).

Have you been maintaining your rear end by doing regular oil changes over them 75,000 miles?
