Interchiller or ice box

What would you all suggest? Ice box or interchiller? Pros/Cons? The car only sees street racing and a few track events a year? Car is full bolt on with cam, E60, big gulp, 103, and ported blower with 15% overdrive.

A more efficient blower?

There's a lot of material at this site on this topic.

Mine has a 7.5 gal. trunk tank. MAT starts the morning cruise at ambient temperature. And goes up to around 20-25 degrees above ambient at peak rpm after a pull or two, but I'm spinning my blower pretty hard, 21k.

At the strip, I put a bag on the blower between runs, and put a 10# bag of ice in it as I leave for the lanes, and turn on the pump near the stop sign. It'll be a little closer to ambient in this case at the end of the track.

Timing advance is 25, and it doesn't pull any advance during any of this.

Out of curiosity... are you asking because your IAT.3's are so high the car is pulling timing?r is this just searching for better efficiency from the blower.
Are you monitoring your temps via Banks iDash or similar during driving?
If so, what kind of temps are you seeing at a stop light vs low speed vs freeway ?

I am about 19% OD total... installed a larger front HX and a 2 gallon fender tank and my temps are fine everywhere but long stop lights when 90F and up...

Thanks for the input Guys. I am only Spinning the blower around 15% overdrive as of now. I just want to keep everything as efficient as possible to avoid any issues. It’s mainly a street car with a few trips to the track each year.

Running e60 with a ported blower, that only sees a few track events a year, I'd leave it just as you have it.

Mine has a water tank, and I never use ice unless at the strip.

I have a interchiller setup, as I did not want to mess with filling up a tank with ice etc.

Depends on fuel used and what you are doing with the car.

Drag car with pump and meth, I would probably do an ice tank.

Pump gas streetcar, Interchiller.

You don't need either for that setup if running Ethanol. One of these days the masses will understand that E actually likes heat. When you take the combustion cooling effect of Direct Injection combined with E85, the cylinder temps are drastically lower vs pump gas and on another planet vs a port injected motor. You simply raise the IAT vs Spark table to maintain timing. It's set ultra conservative from the OEM for shit fuel. Stop worrying about the incoming air temp because what matters is cylinder temps. Too much gasoline logic is used with Ethanol fuels.

I agree here and I actually found out the hard way on my Hellcat, running E85 and a chiller with a colder set of plugs, rhe car would start missing after driving it on the highway when the chiller was at its coldest. Took me a while to figure out it was the plugs.
