When I purchased my ZL1 from the Houston area, it had two door dings on the passenger side, this was a car with 2600 miles, I noticed that, no problem righ?. So I get approval and tell them I will be back in 2 days to get the car, I should have told them not to touch anything.

When I came back, I knew something was wrong, the salesman met me inside the dealership, usually they walk you to the car, I get to the car, and look at the the clear on the carbon fiber ZL1 scoop had been burned through on the edge about a inch, and some unprofessional person put a razor on the inside windshield to remove the stickers, I didn't know that the windshield has a factory film( Probably for HUD) so I would have made that mistake, but I was so happy to get the car, I just drove off. I should have made them pay for the window and where the buffer burned through, but I didn't want them touching the car anymore.

I temporarily fixed the windshield with nail polish clear, and put nail polish on the carbon fiber panel, but the carbon fiber did slowly peel the clear before the polish fixed it. This all happened 4 years ago. This fall, I'm taking the carbon off, lightly sanding and applying 2K clear.

Were dealing with young kids or people making barely more than minimum wage and that's fine, we were all there a one point in time, I know I was, but not listening or taking pride in a job is a serious thing to me. And the person that listens and treat's people and there things with pride and honesty is the person who should succeed to the top, maybe even be a owner of a dealership.

It hurts, to see our hard earn things get missed handed, but that's why I do all my own work until I can't, then hopefully one of my children will or someone with a passion for this stuff. Or it will be time to sell the toys.

Curious to see how you made out with the rest of your concerns, with the General Manager. Give us an update when you can. Hope all is better now!

When the Manager said the car was not damaged in transport or at his dealership, that was his way of absolving himself or his dealership AND the transport company from responsibility. He tricked you man, sorry.

By saying he will reach out to GM for you is him saying he will call GM, say the car was mint when it left his dealership and leave it up to GM to decide if they want to help. Which 99% of the time they wont since you accepted the delivery and drove off. Regardless what is true or not true( for the record I believe the dealership and shipping company are responsible for the damage), you can't prove it and they are not going to help you.

Thankfully the fender was easily corrected. The other stuff is under the car that no one sees so you might want to just let it go. I know this is not what you want to hear but what is the resolution you expect from them and is it worth the stress?

This should be a reminder to everyone picking up their new car to look it over thoroughly before signing.

Oof, this is not what you want to see on your new car.

I'm thinking I we need to start putting NO LIFT stickers under our car at certain points

So what ever happened with this? Did you get any satisfaction from the dealer?

I’m almost wondering if he couldn’t take the stress, sold the car and left the forum.

Hope he proves me wrong — I’m riveted!
