2023 SS 1LE Secondary Cat Delete

Does anyone make a secondary Cat delete anymore? I know Corsa used to but it doesn't seem like they do now. I want a little bit more volume from the exhaust but I really do like the functionality of the stock NPP (don't want to piss of the neighbors yet). I know I could take the car and have someone make one but where I live that will be a huge pain in the ass. If anyone has any suggestions I would love to hear them.

EPA shutdown those vendors that did have a solution for what you want.

Yep. Might be able to find a used set of AWE stainless “performance link pipes” out there but otherwise it’s a custom job.

You could cut secondary cats off, beat everything out of them and reinstall them back on the car with some vibrant couplings worst case.

If you want to delete your secondary cats the only options exhaust manufacturers offer now would be replacing that area of the exhaust with either a set of Long tube headers with their own cats or doing a full exhaust which includes Headers and some mid-pipes like Stainless works offers. Keep in mind a tune is required for long tube headers, and your vehicle is going to be a lot louder too.

The climate Nazis have beaten the manufacturers into a corner huh

What's the deal with the headers needing a tune? I did headers on my F body cars with no problems. What's up with these cars and why MUST they have a tune? Does it have to do with these perma codes I'm hearing about?

Permanent codes are one issue. The fact that it’s a torque based tuning strategy from GM is the other. If you don’t tune for the mods, the car simply closes your throttle and retards spark timing until torque production is back in line which obviously defeats the purpose of doing mods to begin with.

I do. Headers remove secondary? Speed Engineering X-Pipe removes primaries. And I think they do have NPP compatible options as well if I'm not mistaken.

They work fine, but if you do go that route pick yourself up some 3" exhaust clamp bands, the SE exhaust clamp bands are trash at best and only about 1" wide.

I have heard/read of one dealer telling people with modded diesels don't even bring them in, they can be considered as being involved in emissions defeating(which is like a 10k fine) if they repair the trucks that have emissions defeating mods. There is a possibility (maybe there were reports?) of the EPA talking about or maybe actually tracking down where VINs and the shops they were at, and putting the hammer down so hard none will do it anymore. So if they know the shop installed the device on X date, and then another shop reported a repair by VIN on Carfax, EPA goes to the second shop to and fines them for repairing an illegal vehicle. If they has started or will happen, I don't know, but they already buried some diesel tuners so hard Flying Miata pulled all their swap kits
