Man you really rack up the miles. Just wanted to thank you for taking care of your 2018 hyper blue that you had before. The car has been awesome since i've owned it, and now has 97,500 on it with no issues. She gets lots of love.

Not sure how I missed this thread - I bought a brand new 2021 1SS 1LE at the end of November 2020. Two weeks later, on Dec. 14th, I was driving home, turning into my neighborhood at 25 MPH and heard a *POP*. I thought I had run over a bottle or something in the road, but then the engine started making a loud ticking noise.
Car went in the shop for a month, had a full engine replacement. A week after I got the car back it dropped a valve. Back in the shop for another week. I get the car back and found a bunch of issues (parts missing, parts damaged, leaks, etc.). I ended up lemoning it in the middle of last year. I have wanted a Camaro since I was a kid, and I loved my car aside from all that shit. I keep thinking about getting another one, but stories like LT1Bros's make me reconsider Last edited by Sindri; 03-02-2022 at 10:18 AM. Reason: Cited wrong user's story |

My first LT1 was a 2018. 85,000 miles and not a single issue with the engine. I traded that for a 21 2SS and at 38,000 miles not a single problem. Still a ball to drive

2500 km (~1550 miles) and the engine blew
My car blew it's engine on it's very first track day, which was in the wet. I was taking it very easy (I have PDR vide of every minute on the track) and on the back straight it let go, sending a rod though the block. On replay I can hear knocking on the last 1/2 lap. No check engine or lack of oil pressure prior, oil change 2 days before, and I checked the oil level the night before (full).
It feels like my failure is uncommon. |

68,000 miles, zero track time. No issues, doesn’t burn oil. Nothing done other than standard maintenance.
