So I just put a deposit down on a '23 3LT, black with RS package. It is exactly what I was looking for sans the color but I can live with black.


Sorry V8 guys, for me 335 is enough HP and it is going to be a daily driver.


The vehicle is already in transit and they expect it in around the end of the month so we will see...

Just heard from my dealer - my car is in Alabama making its way to Tampa!!! Hopefully i pick it up on the 31st so it can share a birthday with my daughter and the 2002 I had…. I miss that car…

Pleased to post that I lucked out and found a used 2SS 1LE, M6, for sale (w/ 2900 miles). Someone didn't make their payments and also learned the hard way Eagle F1 tires are not cheap to replace. The 1LE is amazing. It's so hooked to the ground and aggressive I almost feel guilty driving it because I'm a hack whose last fast car was a 1991 Trans Am I bought new (I'm that old). The selectable exhaust sounds so menacing - crazy to read some replace the exhaust, but to each his own. Pains me to think these are the final muscle car years

That said, still waiting for the '23 2SS I ordered on 3/6/23 to move beyond 1100 status. Fairly certain some on dealer waiting list jumped ahead of my order when they get an allocation - maybe offering dealer more than invoice? Anyway, met with dealer G.M. and he claims Chevy will honor the '23 workbench price if order is carried over to '24. Also promised that if I had a workbench order Chevy will eventually build my Camaro...

They have $1K deposit and my bi-weekly inquiry to deal with - and if he is lying at least I got to pick up a used 1LE to punish the asphalt with while I wait. Not sure what I'll do if the ordered 2SS arrives.

Am i kidding myself that it will even be produced?

You are kidding yourself, unfortunately. Model year 2023 has been built out, no more 2023 cars will be produced.

Furthermore, these unallocated/unaccepted orders aren't automatically converted into 2024 orders, the dealer has to recreate and resubmit the order for 2024, and unless they are willing to eat the price delta themselves, there is no way to make GM honor 2023 prices. Since GM decided to cut model year 2024 short and the total volume to be built is probably much less than the demand, chances of submitting a 2024 order for a relatively special 2SS 1LE trim (it has basically everything except the supercharger) and then actually getting an allocation would be pretty slim anyway.

Be happy with your 2SS 1LE, as you've already seen, it's a breathtakingly amazing car, second only to the ZL1 (and a properly built 2SS [1LE], heh, see my signature). Your deposit should be refundable, since the dealership was unable to honor their end of the deal.

Still waiting on my 23 ZL1 to be delivered to the dealer. It was built on June 13th but has been sitting in a Toledo Ohio railyard since July 15th. The dealer is now telling me the ETA on vinview is showing 1st week of November. Absolutely crazy how long shipping is taking. Has anyone else had a similar experience when having rail involved? 2 months should have been reasonable based on what I had been reading but 5 months is just nuts?

I picked up an unclaimed 2SS 1LE on 7/31. Car arrived at a TN dealer on 7/20. Can't speak to exact transportation dates but the build sticker in door jamb shows 6/23.

The shipping wait is beyond crazy, my car was built 3/8/2023 been sitting in several yards and ETA still unknown.. at least you have a date.

Hope the paint still has some clear coat on it…

I wouldn’t be on this site complaining about it, I would be getting the rail car number and the railroad name. Then calling said railroad and nicely explaining the situation. Get bitchy with them and they will make it sit longer. Most times, they will try and help. I had my 99 SS Camaro stuck on a rail car that had a wheel bearing failure. I talked to the railroad and they fixed it in a couple days and got it back in motion to me.

Anything shipping rail is delayed, not just cars. There is a supply and demand issue. Just not enough engine cars to support. Thank you, you know who, administration???

The trains have been running slow for a couple of years now. My Hellcat took months to ship.. and it really didn't have all that far to go. It seems trucking may have improved a bit, but that was ugly for a good while as well.
