Well, if your profile is correct, no you don’t because you don’t have an A8 (you have an A10).

If memory serves, he also has a C7 or two.

Not all dealership service departments are incompetent. There are plenty of shitty small non-dealer service shops too.

Bottom line is that everyone needs to do their due diligence and research to find a good one, dealership or not.

My issue has been finding a dealer with good sales and service. I have dealt with 5 different dealer that one half of it sucked. The one I take it to for service told me I had to fill out and sign a credit application to pay cash/check when buying. They lost a sale on my first attempt at a 6th. Glad they did though, like my 2SS better.

I have bought two Mazda's from the same dealer because their sales team is fantastic. I'm not sure if I will go back for my next Mazda because their service dept is THAT bad. I had gotten a great deal on 4 month oil changes, rotations, and full Mazda spec inspections for 3 years for around $40 each. My 5th or 6th I had to buy a new drain plug because "I" stripped it. I said "this is so stupid I would rather pay the $7 than waste my time explaining how stupid this is"

It is really painful.
When I bought my car they slammed the door and damaged the paint.
I had to listen to them say I needed to be happy because "they gave me a good deal".

I got the first oil change. No tire rotation by my request. Miles were input wrong in the computer. Now the carfax will look wrong. They did that with my other car too, now I have a gap in the reports.

I think all this is on purpose and helps revenue. People are more likely to trade in if they can't keep their car well mantained or don't trust service / mechanics.

^^^^ This 110%. I've been using my dealer for 25+ years and have never had an issue. There are non dealer service shops around here I'd never let work on my bicycle, more less my automobile. Just because someone has had a bad experience with a dealer doesn't make them all bad.

That car is long gone. The A8 seems to always have something wrong with it. The A10 was trouble free the whole short time i had it.

Probably just shouting into the ether but comparing 1 particular unit to 1 other isn't a statistic. My A8 has been flawless since day 1, yet I won't say it's a trouble-free transmission, GM screwed the pooch on the tune and the fluid, but especially on handling the issues (no surprises there).

BTW the A10 is a very-very similar design, it's foolish to treat is as if it were some magic unicorn part. Things in the real world are nuanced.

For quick context I bought my 1LE about a year ago, with it I purchased an oil change package (didn't want to risk slicking/staining my garage) and a wheel/tire package (Curb rash, nail in the tire, etc). I did my first oil change with the dealership at 500 miles and everything went well, they took their sweet time but no issues.

The second time at 5000 miles I also thought the same thing, except the next morning I find the car leaking oil. Brought it back, their tech must have left their eyes at home because he installed a faulty oil filter (???). They put a new one and it was fine after that, but the whole point of me buying that oil change package was negated. Whatever, small thing.

Thursday I put a post on the wheels and tire forum here, but I went in for a leak in the rear tire, under my wheel and tire package. Basically because the tires are under a certain tread threshold their warranty company wouldn't patch it and I had to buy new tires. A little annoying but the prices for the tires, mounting, etc was not bad, in fact I think the tires were slightly cheaper than market price.

Friday morning I pick it up, driving home I felt a little more NVH from the seat (ass), which I definitely noticed right away as not normal. I was in track mode, so I switched it to sport and tour and the vibrations disappeared. I chalked it up to the stiffer suspension in track and maybe the more tread compared to my old tires gave more feedback. I checked the tires when I got home and they looked good, I should have checked the lug nuts then and there.

This morning (Saturday) I'm going out for my morning drive, I'm in stealth mode for the exhaust and tour overall~ which made this next part immediately concerning. I felt the rear vibrating and pulsing everytime I let off the accelerator (not even 5-10%). No way in hell that is normal, and thank god I trusted myself there because when I pulled over to check the wheels: my passenger side wheel didn't have a single lug nut tightened. One was all the way off, hanging by a thread quite literally. You've got to be ****ing kidding me. They didn't even tighten the ****ing lug nuts, forget the track if I had gone on the highway or even normal roads that could have killed me and other people if it had come off. I had to stop and tighten then by hand to get home.

Cautionary warning.
Excuse my ignorance, but I did not think modes mattered for suspension in the 1LE or is that only the ZLE?

I also take my breaker bar and torque bar with me to tire changes. As soon as they are done, I re-do them LOL!

This A8 in my 2015 has never been touched other than a fluid change in 2018. This just started a few weeks ago when the car sits at work and i put it into D or M from park the car just sits there and BAM it jerks hard into gear. Kinda like having a high stall. Other than that it's been fine. There is a TSB for this.

But no shudder. Never had a triple flush.

My local Chevy dealer was pretty good for a while, then things went south. I needed an oil change and alignment and guess what, they no longer have the equipment for alignments. Then it was time for tires, so I called them. Yep they would find what I needed, except they didn’t and didn’t bother to call me back. A week later I follow up and am told, ‘we can’t find tires for your car, sorry’.

WTF, you’re a Chevy dealership and can’t find tires for a four year old Chevy AND don’t bother to call and let me know after I’ve been doing business with you for four years?

Funny, the local discount tire store had them in stock. Less than an hour wait and I drive out with four new tires, balanced and aligned.

Bye Bellamy Strickland.

The SS 1LE has the same adjustable suspension as the STD ZL1. Only the ZLE has the spool valve dampers which are non-adjustable...
