Should I just buy a used Camaro?

I see an unusually low mile 2021 LT1/RS for just under 40k for sale. Has 500 miles on it.

I would say if its exactly what you want, and the price is good, why not? 500 miles is nothing.

Mostly. I wanted an automatic but, I have not problem driving a manual. The cost would be at least 5000 less than new, as new would have a transportation fee and. 2024 has a 3k price increase. I’ll take a look at it and see how my middle aged knee likes the clutch pedal

Used car prices are dropping like a rock, and with the price increases on '24, its added savings. If you find something you like at the right price, it may be worth while.

Repos are going way up. Not sure they make a huge impact on the overall used car auction volume, but every time I see a youtube about how high interest rates, tightening credit, higher prices, etc they show Challengers as an illustration. Wells Fargo is actually paying a premium to repo their cars to get in the front of the line. ...probably anecdotal but possibly a sign of what's to come.

I'd buy a used one before buying a new one. As @Haggler said, used car values are dropping like a rock. For shits and grins the other day I checked an offer from Vroom on my car. Oh ya... used values are WAY down from the Covid days. Some people are still trying to get top dollar, but if they want to sell them they will have to adjust the price. Especially if you live anywhere near a winter state. Yep, believe it or not in winter states, muscle cars and motorcycles are not what people are looking for anymore.

So you are still around here! Haven't seen ya in awhile, but I was gone for some time too.

I agree the vehicle values are dropping (and have been), however, that is not AS true when it comes to certain vehicles. Think specialty or not-so-common vehicles. The V8 cars will continue to hold value better than most IMO, especially the top dog cars like the Hellcat, Z06, ZL1, etc.

This is correct. The Detroit region is still one of the hotter markets for these types of cars, and typically usually is. CA often has stupid markets as well.

I never said anything about “top dollar”. I stated that there is a ton of interest here. I know I’m most states, especially east and west coast you doesn’t see a lot of Big 3 vehicles, but in Detroit area and most of Michigan in general, you see way more Big 3 then any other brand. Muscle cars are everywhere here

I get that... But normally where there is a "lot of interest", you can normally get top dollar. Where there is low or little interest you need to drop your price to sell it. Just a quick search on caredge. There are a lot of Gen 6 SS and ZL1's for sale. If there is a lot of interest there are a lot to choose from
