Key FOB Battery Replacement gone wrong
I’ve never had a problem before but I messed up trying to change key fob battery. Can anyone show me where the spring and other piece go or is it ruined?
Thanks very much |

Take the spring and put it against the plastic fob molding. Take the chrome piece and place it against the opposite side of the spring. Put the other side of the fob back over it and snap it back together.

I need to do this too. are the two halves of the key glued together or just press fit together. in other words, do i need to glue the two halves or will they stay put when I put the key back together?

I'm happy to report that I snorkeled for 2 hours with the key fob for my Camaro rental in my swim shorts in Hawaii and the fob continued to work for the duration of the rental.

I’m finally home from work. I’m having trouble because my thumb is broke. Do I put the spring on the part before I put the part in, or do I lay the spring in the channel before I put the part in 🥵Thanks again.

I appreciate all the help and want to apologize, but I can’t get it together. I have the spring in the correct place I think, but I can’t get the chrome piece where it belongs. Is it supposed to just lay on top or go in the channel some how? Pr is it supposed to fit tight in the channel? I couldn’t figure it out even with the spring out. It’s not my broken thumb at this point, it’s my ignorance.
Any suggestions appreciated. I hate to give up and go to the dealer (stealer) Thanks again.. Last edited by Fun; 08-10-2023 at 03:48 PM. |
