You can leave the fronts alone if you get 305/30/20 rears.

Ideally you want 285/30/20 up front, same as the stock 1LE and ZL1 setup, but minor deviations are fine, you only need to watch out for how much you change the front:rear ratio, up to ~3% will work, anything above that will likely play havoc with the computer.

I hope you already have wider wheels, though, the stock SS rims aren't exactly optimal for these wider tires.

I went with 1LE tire sizes, 285/30/20 front, 305/30/20 rear. No problems whatsoever. Most likely you won't have to move the wiring harness in the driver's side rear wheel well, although some recommend doing it just in case. I didn't move it, but I did check for rubbing after a test run to make sure. What size wheels do you have? You really can't use these size tires with standard SS wheels because they are too narrow for these sizes - you should use 11" wide wheels rear, offset +43, 10" front offset +20 (?or +23) front optimally.

Definitely agree with changing the battery regardless. I replaced mine after 5 years just for peace of mind.

Sorry to hijack, but now I’m curious, what battery are most people getting for the LT1 engine? Thank you.

Thanks for that, that helps out a lot

Yes I believe so I just got the rims that looks like it but not the same specs. Tried to go 20x10 front and 20x11 rear but the 20x11 was sold by the time.

A little unusual. Do you have a link to where you got the wheels?

You may want to look at this - recommended tire widths by wheel width:

Yea I’m looking for a set of 20x11. They currently don’t have them no more.

You may still have issues with the 1LE sizes on an SS. I tried that and normal driving was ok, but still had some "more agressive than normal" TC kicking in on hard acceleration.

Switched to tires than are much closer to stock SS dia and that seems better, but still havent been able to test a 1st gear launch at the dragstrip, where the 1LE size was causing suspected ABS and/or TC activation, even with all the nannies off. Ive got a video where the car is shuddering on the launch with nannies off because of what i suspect was ABS activation on the front wheels, and definite logged torque management.... again with all TC and ESC supposed to be turned off by holding down the TC button for 5-8 seconds.

But around town driving was normal with 1LE sizes, just still seemed to be an issue at extremes compared to stock diameters.

Although you can adjust for tire dias with HPTuners, i *suspect* there are modules like maybe the ABS that are also programmed with the stock tire dias that no one knows how to change yet, because no one that im aware of has been able to totally get around the front to rear tire dia ratio problem.
