Probably a 3rd party, extended warranty (100K-150Kmile) plan added in.

A dealer gets a lot of promotional value out of this type of “warranty,” but it costs him very little because it only covers a limited number of specified engine and transmission parts with a deductible - and only for the original owner. The dealer just builds it into the selling price of the car. It’s probably worthless to most buyers who never keep their cars “forever” - however long that is. Tell the dealer you’d rather have the amount it costs him deducted from your final price - I’ll bet he won’t do it.

Can it mean that you'll have a Camaro to look at when the world goes all EV. You know how different states keep talking no gas after 2035. But as a true believer I drought it will ever happen in my life time.

It is a powertrain warranty and from what I have seen before, you have to do all recommended maintenance with a dealer per the manual and do it on time.

Most-likely it cannot be transferred to subsequent owners.

the devil's in the details. One case is you have 50% covered under lifetime. Whatever happens you pay 50% and dealer pays 50%.
Conveniently, anything happens and the cost of the repair is 4 times more what is actually costs.
So you get to pay double with warranty than would take to fix it on your own.

The Car is advertised $750 off MSRP, good deal there , LT Warranty, most folks trade in around 5 years down the road . Sunset Chevrolet in Puyallup Washington (use to live in area) offers this and has for years. They also offer it on Used or (Pre-owned) as they call it now. The particulars I don't know , other than 100 deductible , and you need service records for any warranty work.

Might want to look at the numbers again - they are around $1500 to almost $2000 above MSRP.

I see it now , oops .... I'm in the market for the GMPP in 2 years before my B2B expires . IMO if your staying Stock , a warranty is worth (again to me) a lot. If the warranty there offering is like Car Shield, I would see how much more for the GMPP and pay the Difference .

I bought a brand new car back in 2012 from a dealership that touted "Lifetime Warranty". Two years into ownership, I saw a big sign in the service department stating "As of XX/XX/XX we will not be continuing our Lifetime Warranty program."

That was it! It meant nothing, and I imagine if you tried to make a claim under a warranty like that, they'd have a loophole for that as well.

The only real warranty you have with your car if you do not pay extra for one is the General Motors warranty. And if you do want to buy an extended warranty, buy the GM Protection Plan or whatever they call it today.

At least that's good at any GM dealer across America. So if you break down in some remote town in Nebraska and the only dealer for miles is a Buick/GMC dealer, you can get your car fixed there 100% covered.
