Bare weight... source is GM's Parts Work Bench. Can't link because it's an internal GM site.

Here’s an inside pick with a view of the hood. It’s really not that much IMO.

Opened the rear part of hood.

The other day I took the car for some pretty spirted runs. I was surprised how hot the top of the LT4 was after even an hour of sitting. Installing the F1 Interchiller next week so it should take care of this but I decided to open the rear of the hood like I did on my other build with a Copo hood. It will help because I remember you could see the heat coming out of the Copo hood. Everything helps with regards to getting engine temps down. Here’s a few pics from the inside of hood and rear part. I just used my dermal tool and Cordless Reciprocating Saw. Gotta get a thermal blanket for the underside of hood.

Put a heat shield on it today. It turn out pretty good IMO. Funny thing now, after taking the hood off at least 3 times I either got lucky with the placement but the hood fits really good now. At first I was not to happy with fitment but now it’s fine. Plus the hood pins and push latches work really good now.

Next project I order some hood vents, just trying to release the heat as much as possible under the hood. I plan on putting them in the middle side by side lower part of the hood. There light weight metal and arrive at the end of the month. There not to far off from my heat registers in the house.

Hood vents are in, cut the hood yesterday and painted the vents this morning to hide/conceal the rivets better. Overall a pretty easy install and hope my heat in the engine bay goes lower even a few degrees to get that air moving. Once I get my upgraded pump for FI Interchiller and working properly I will be happy.

It’s more for functionality than looks. Because house heater registers are not sexy. Lol

Hydro-dip the vents in carbon fiber and get black rivets.

That would be very nice to do, unfortunately didn’t think of it at the time. Maybe a winter project. Thanks for idea.

When I saw how good it came out, and didn't look like heater vents, I just thought the icing on the cake would be to make them look "real".
