Estimate from car being built to dealer lot?

Dealer said the car has a vin number and being built but does not know when it will arrive-Any guesses on time frame or from someone else that has gone thru this?

TIA
Mark

Well I can tell you my ZL1 was built and finished on June 13th. Since June 28th is has been pending dispatch with no eta or info on when it will be shipped to the dealer. You should be prepared for at least a 6 month wait but I could be wrong. I did not order my ZL1 so I cant say for how long the dealer had the order in. I just found it in June and put a ton of money down on it for them to hold it. I'm hoping I see it by September at this point.

30-90 days. I had 30 days to the dealer and was only an hour from LGR.

I've only been sitting at "In Transit" for about 3 weeks...lol. The more I read on here, the more I don't feel so good about getting it "soon". But I am happy I found one and have a down payment on it.

Hey guys, it wouldn't hurt to lie a little and tell us waiting on the car that "it will be any minute now, any minute".

If your vehicle is coming by rail it could be 2-3 months or more, there are shortages of the cars that carry autos on the rail system. If on the back of a car carrier truck then likely 1-2 months. I am 2 hrs away from the Lansing, Michigan plant , was a truck that brought mine, it was a month to get here, some that had their car built before me took 2 months nearby. It seems sort of random.

Your dealer should have access to a program called VinView(?) and it'll show exactly where your car is.

Just so you know there are the rare exceptions, my car was built on a Tuesday and I picked it up at my dealer in Indy that Saturday.

Ordered 4/28/23, accepted 5/2/23 and built 6/6/23. 6 weeks later it's still sitting in Lansing with no ETA. Hasn't shown up on my dealer's website and when I search the VIN on Chevy website it says "No Longer Available". My salesman can see it's still sitting there and supposedly marked as "hot" for transport but that hasn't helped any.....still patiently waiting.....

I had a similar experience. Built 5/31, arrived at the dealer 6/9.

I was expecting months of wait based on other forum members experience.

There's no rhyme or reason to this insanity.

Best of luck, hopefully it won't take long for your ride to arrive.

My SS was built 6/7 and has no ETA. Dealer sent a screenshot saying it's sitting at "offsite yard-west lot"

Likewise, mine has been sitting at Willow lot since 6/8. At least we are all in the boat together. Hopefully all 2023s will be sent out before they start shipping 2024s, but considering how GM has handled things the last few years, not holding my breath.

Ask one of those magic 8 balls, you'll probably get a more accurate date than from gm or your dealer...

"Ask again later" - GM already got to the magic 8-balls, too!
