I got a manual because I know I wasn't going to make any money racing this car anyway, I just wanted to have as much fun as possible.
I like the 3 pedals. I don't wanna be in D all day, it gives the car so much more character. |

Maybe I can catch a few Camaro guys at a Cars and Coffee and talk about Manual vs Auto and the LT1 vs SS vs ZL1...

I ran with a small camaro grp the other month. There were 8 zl1's including myself, and I was the only manual >.< Rip, I can't hate on the auto's, I just feel I'd get bored quicker.

I would have preferred a M6 on my 21’ LT1. However I got the LZ1 lease Lease was only for A10, for 279$, upspec’d to 340$ RS package and 3.0 infotainment. 0$ dep, 0 down anything. Employee pricing. I had a 1SS w/ A8 and that thing was weird. What I paid and for the performance of the A10 is amazing. Lease finishes in 10 months, car has 6100 miles, I’ll be buying it. Ill have to suck it up and suffer with the A10

You can manual shift that A10 from the floor shift or paddle it. That A10 will kick that M6 to the gutter all day long, you can't shift the manual even close to how quick the A10 shifts. If you like to drag race it the manual will lose every time. The A10 will be worth more on a trade as its more desirable for 99 percent of the public. Plus as someone else mentioned your going to take a hit on the trade in/purchase going from the A10 to the M6. Sounds like a no brainer to me, but you gotta write the check or in most cases make the payment. Good luck in your decision.

Well, some folks can NLS preetty fast, not as quickly as an automatic, but almost, and I'm sure it's a ton of fun, much more than clicking paddles.
The reason the automatic is faster in general is more the M6's taller gears—even the A8 beat M6 cars easily back in the day, and the A10 has an extra non-overdrive gear vs the A8.

If you want to swap it for a M6, and you have been lucky enough to have found one, do not hesitate to pull the trigger. They are only going to get more scarce as people realize that manual transmission v8 sports/muscle cars are indeed a very rare and special thing.
