2023 Camaro - Waiting on Allocation

Hello everyone!

So I’ve had an order in with a local dealership for a 2023 rapid blue 3LT Camaro with the RS package since November of last year. The dealership is still telling me they’re waiting for an allocation. From what I’ve been seeing seems the 2024 models will be starting production soon. What do you think is the likely hood that my order will be accepted before they start production for the next year model? Should I try to switch it to a 2024 if they can’t do the 23? Or just try to get my deposit back and look elsewhere?

Have them put it in as a 24 on the day that orders open up. If you don't have a allocation now for the 23 you're probably not going to get one. Ask your dealer how many other orders he has in front of yours. If they're getting allocations of 1-2 a month, for example, and he has 20 orders and you're #20, you're pretty well hosed.

My 2023 ordered in mid-March was moved to a 2024 about a month ago. I wouldn't trust that there is a 2023 allocation still in the pipeline.

I was told my 2024 allocation will come next week. We'll see.

Well from what he’s told me I’ve been the next in line for some months now lol. But feel like they should have got something by now. Was my first time ordering a car so let them talk me into a 2K non refundable deposit. So kind of stuck with them unless they’re unable to provide this one. But definitely going to try to do a refundable if we do need to rework the contract for a 24. So I can try to put in at a few different dealerships. Thank you for some feedback!

Allocations for 2023's are over. They need to change it to a 2024 ASAP.

No more 23 Allocations. If it wasn’t picked up already it’s over. No more 23s being built after august. Need to get it switched to a 24 asap. 24 is only a 6month run

2023 allocations ended in June. You’ll need to reorder as a 2024. And a number of options have been discontinued including Rapid Blue and Shadow Gray Metallic

They might not be able to get any Camaro allocations... Since November? Time to find a new dealer now.... 2024's have a 6 month build schedule.

Since they didn’t deliver a 2023 Camaro and orders are closed they should refund your deposit.

Keep in mind that Rapid Blue was discontinued and isn’t available on 2024 models. If you’re set on Rapid Blue then you’ll want to use the “View Inventory” tool on the Chevrolet web site to try to locate a car with the options you want.

Although not the same, there is a new nice blue paint color for 2024 ("riptide blue metallic", code GJV), check it out. But if you're willing to entertain a new direction, I recommend "radiant red tintcoat" (GNT) as well, it's another great looking color.

Almost feels like GM wanted a cameo appearance of the unbeatable garnet red / hyper blue duo from 2016, just for one last model year run.

Forget about that dealer, 8 months waiting for an allocation is a little much. Try to locate what you're looking for on Chevys site. Or find a high volume dealer with a better chance of getting an allocation. You can also submit orders with multiple dealers. The first dealer that I ordered from agreed to refund the deposit if no allocation in 2 months. As I was searching on Chevys site, another dealer that I spoke with called and asked if I wanted the allocation that they just got. So that's how it worked for me. good luck!

p.s. I just looked on Chevrolet.com and there are 11 Rapid Blue 3LT Camaros, take a look and see if any fit your needs.
