That's quite a change in your plans but, I am sure you have your reasons. I went the Kong X-port and have been very pleased with the results.
On another note I have two friends that installed the same Whipple you have and had problems. They both ended sending them back to Whipple to be fixed (still waiting ). Not real sure of the problem but both said the SC sounded like it had marbles rolling around in them.

fuel system, really tired of calculating E85 content. If I firm up the low side and add port injection, I can just fill up on E85. Fuel pump, port injection, port the stock blower and pulley down a bit plus the tune will get me in the 800whp range. plenty.... for now. |

Interesting, I know the 5gen LSA had a sound issue from the drive coupler. not sure what type of coupler Whipple used on the 2.9. |

Little update.
so I ended up keeping the whipple 2.9 and installing it, added a Katech 103 throttle body and big gulp. Install was easy, little extra time spent routing valve cover breather lines to the catch can and moving the intercooler line around for clearance. with the whipple intercooler connection it was easy to replace the hard aluminum pipe from the passenger side over to a rubber hose and rerouted it to mount my catch can. using 3.5 pulley with the 8% overdrive lower, making 15-15.5 psi. basically maxing the fuel system out on pump gas. pretty much wrapped up the tune with Ted, finishing up a couple of minor tweaks. definitely picked up some steam, car pulls hard all the way to red line. will get on the dyno again in a few weeks and see what the difference is from before. Whine is real, even at idle you can here it whistling away. quick idle video while I was bleeding air out of the coolant system. https://youtu.be/xXxZfT0Qke8 |
