Congrats to you!! Guess I was told wrong then. I don’t know if I need to start calling larger dealerships?

Thanks! Very Excited! I got mine at probably the largest dealer in the state and joined their 24 waiting list in April. As much as I would love a ZL1, I don't think I would of gotten an allocation, especially if the 24 run is shorter than normal.

I haven't had a manual transmission car in 4 years, so pumped to be rowing gears again!

I should have probably gotten on more waiting lists, but our larger dealerships around here do not have a good rep, so I went to one a little smaller that was going to stick to MSRP and was confident they would be able to order it. :( I haven't had a Camaro since my first one at 16 years old, 25 years ago. Getting a new one has been a lifelong bucket list and I'm out of time now if I can't find one. Sigh. I'm first on the list of this medium sized dealer but that means nothing if there is no allocation.

My dealer told me today that for the next build cycle allocation week there are 114 Camaro builds available nationwide, of which are 15 ZL1s available nationwide and 26 1LEs available in SS trims.

I really get the impression that GM doesn't want to built many Camaros

Call me stupid, but I only went to one dealer. They own four Chevy stores and have been dead honest with me for over 40 years. My 23 order was placed in mid-May and I felt that was a crap shoot so the news that it didn't make the cut was really no surprise.
The 24 order went in nearly two weeks ago. If it comes through, great if not, oh well.
At my stage of life , I'll be long gone before it's collectable. But it'd be nice.

Do you think it would just be a few more weeks after that and it will open up bigger allocations nationwide? Or it's like just not in the cards for most people sitting here willing to buy?

My dealer told me there were 7 Camaro allocations nationwide today. None for CEs.

Last week they got zero allocations (I saw the paperwork) but then were told they had one for a CE ZL1, by the district manager.... and they put in the order for a customer that wanted it. (I don't want a ZL1 CE, and I am #1 on the CE list) and I have a copy of that order at status 2000.

The dealer thinks the regular CEs could be allocation as late as a couple months from now... which is cool by me...

we will see...

I placed my order last week. Last Friday to be exact. I have an order number but don’t know how these codes work (1100, 4200, etc)….. does my order code change from the 6 digit letter/number code to one of these other codes when GM accepts the order?

Here is my math with numbers. There are just shy of 3000 chevy dealers. In 2017 I toured the Corvette plant in Bowling Green KY and they said they were going to build 142 Corvettes THAT DAY. They also said they had the slowest moving line of all GM vehicles.

My dealer told me on June 29 that the next build WEEK was for 114 Camaros nationwide. This car is not a big money maker for GM. If you can find an allocation, consider placing the order even if some of your preferred options are unavailable. My preferred build was for a 1SS 1LE. My dealer said he can get me the 1SS and maybe the 1LE if some of the other dealers who are given 1LEs don't take it, then the remaining unused 1LEs will get handed out to other dealers, but nobodly on the planet, shy of some insider GM reps, can explain this, not to mention how allocations are even issued in the first place.

For my second choice build, I wanted the $995 black forged wheels and second gen front splitter in metallic black, both of which my dealer said now can't be ordered on a 2024 non CE.

The 2024 Camaro is a parts bin swapatuli that may or may not in be configurable as it was for the 2023 MY.

I had my order placed on the 15th, even talked to the dealer owner, who I know since I worked there, he even said this was a sh*tshow and was a little surprised by how GM has handled this. He also said that I'm the first in line there so if they only get one, it's mine. I asked the salesman yesterday about it, he said they have an allocation for a 2SS and possibly with the 1LE, but won't have an update until Tuesday (July 11th) since next Tuesday is the holiday.

That's what happened to me, even though the 2023 can get the black forged wheels, the 2024 can't unless it is a CE. I guess I saved $600 and got the $300 carbon-flash painted black twistes.

I just watched a video with details that all 300 ZL1 CE allocations have been assigned and will start production July 17 along the closeout of the 2023 Camaros.

I thought all ZL1 CE’s were coupes? If 69 dealers got 2 allocations and 231 got 1, that doesn’t add up to 300 US or 350 total? Did you quote something incorrectly?
