Interesting this thread got brought back to life. I'm the OP... I read my initial post and I think my initial post was most likely due to the newness of the Camaro. I have gone back to my roots and most times throwing my leg over my Harley again. I love the Camaro, but still a Harley/Bike guy at heart. Nice line of bikes! I've been on the hunt for an '09 CVO Springer. (Green/Black)

An old thread brought back to life!
Both the bikes and cars have its own place and each to his/her own. Personally, I enjoy both but neither are daily drivers, just 'toys' to enjoy with a group of friends or a night out on the town... or the yearly bike rallies (but they have become very tame in the past few years as well)

Also, the site runs like sh*t now IMO. I'm not sure if it is just me? There are often times when it takes forever to load a page after clicking on another thread, etc. It can also take its sweet time to post a reply. I'm quite familiar to forums and this is the only one that I've had issues with. And when I had first arrived here (back when I had my 2SS) the site ran fine IIRC. Its almost like something with the hosting platform had changed.

In terms of bike vs car (or fun vehicle)... one really does not replace the other. I've been riding for a little over a decade and there is nothing like it. I could say the same thing about being out on my boat; they are all loved for different reasons. I've contemplated selling the bikes MANY times over the years...but she is still in the garage. At the end of the day, it really cost me next to nothing to keep and the first ride of each year reminds me that I love being on a bike.

Well I hope the site doesn't die, as I don't know where else I would hang out with a ZL1. This site often has decent content, but it'd be nice if the traffic/flow increased a bit.The Hellcat site was OK, but there is so much trash on there... not really my style. I'm sure you can imagine the type based on who those cars attract (i.e. street takeovers). Stupidity.

Rode bikes for 35-40 years. Rode beyond my abilities too often on dirt bikes. Tried to ride like Hurricane Hannah and got banged up a couple of times. Street rides ranged from cruisers to sport bikes (ZX14, FZ1, Valkyrie, Road Glide Screaming Eagle and others). Some nerve issues in my right arm, losing 2 friends and another lost his leg at the hip all made my decision to stop riding easier about 10 years ago. An early bike and my last bike.

62 and have been on a motorcycle since the age of 9.
Raced motocross for many years from 1975 up to 2010. Over the years have had around 20 street bikes and currently have a 2022 ZX6R KRT edition. Every once and a while I still need my bike fix

It's definitely a thing. Got a ZLE and rode the bike less. Then got a Blackwing and drive the ZLE less. No desire to sell anything tho.

I started on a Yamaha YZ back in 1978. Eventually picked up a Honda street bike, then another. Moved to a GPZ and finished with a Honda Sabre.
Along the way I owned a bunch of sports cars as well including a 69 GTO, a '93 twin turbo RX7 and a WRX STi. Bike vs car just aren't comparable in any way. They both have their strengths and weaknesses. I can be a bit of a daredevil so I've deliberately stepped away from motorcycles having walked away relatively unhurt from two separate accidents that should have killed me or permanently injured me. Having said that, dusting off a Ferrari Testarossa on a bike I bought used for $800 was pretty fun. A man's got to know his limitations. |

I had a motorcycle for years, and got a new 2019 Camaro RS and rode a good bit less. Now after having a new 2SS 1LE for over a month, I think ive been on the bike like 1 time lol. I am considering selling it, especially with a second kid on the way. But I love it and run a youtube channel with it, so its kind of hard for me to just let it go.

Keep me in a vehicle. I dig bikes but seen way too many freak accidents that unless I can get away where there's no traffic I'm terrified of them
