Ported throttle body worth it?
hello all, I have long tube headers & k&n cold air intake, would it be worth it to get a ported throttle body as well?

id pass. i swapped my stock one for a pray ported stock one while on the dyno and the car didn't pick up any power.

Agreed. Better off with an unported 95mm LT5 one if you want an upgrade.

It isn't only about horse power. Ported throttle bodies can improve driveability and throttle response. I have a barlely used Soler TB like new in the box if you wanna buy one at a reduced price. I went to nick williams after heads cam upgrade

Tuning a ported TB can be a crap show. Much better off just going bigger if you need more flow. I had a Soler 107 when it first came out. My tuner and I chased out tails for 2 days trying to iron out the drivability issues. Went to a 112 Nick Williams and it drove like stock again. Not saying all ported TBs have that issue, but many do.

I saw a great price for a used mamo v2 so I said screw it and got it. *mods are 2.3 upper, roto, headers/exhaust. Imo there is a night and day difference in throttle response with the ported t.b. now, do I think I gained any HP... nope. But I wasn't looking for that with a stock size t.b.
