mine did the same and found a bulletin that GM put out regarding this issue.
I had mine repaired by the dealership for free they had to modify the hood louver per bulletin instructions and no more wrinkles. the dealership isn't trained to do the stripes but the bulletin has info on a guy named Ryan that can help to get someone assigned to your location to install them. read the bulletin for more info hope this helps! Unless something changed in the later production years my 2017 SS came in on the truck from the factory with Rally Strips installed.

A while back i had thought of getting the shock and steel package.
Very unique but i recall a previoua car i had with stripes that Were bbq'd in the blazing florida sun. My cars are daily drivers That are sun beaten. I do like the blue with white Stripes, sharp. |

I have the Shock and Steel package, and I'm very happy with it. My car is garage kept, and the stripes seem thick and robust. I hope they last well. Mine is the Sharkskin Metallic with 2-tone rally stripes. I love the color combination so much, I customized 4 different pairs of Oakleys to coordinate with my car - the ultimate douchebaggery! ![]()

I didn't see that post until today, and I will share it with my dealership as a follow-up warranty request. My dealership is nice, and we'll see what they say with this kind of support.

Since the original question wasn't answered, most of the stripes are installed at a facility just down the street from the assembly plant. Once the car is built, they are taken there for the install and then back to the plant yard for shipment. All of the 1LE hood wraps are installed at the same facility.
There are some dealer installed stripe options and those will say "dealer installed" on the window sticker. As for delaying shipment. In most cases it does delay shipment. Sometimes it causes a major delay and sometimes it's only a matter of days. There's no rhyme or reason as to the length of the delay that factory stripes can cause. For example, we have a sold order 2024 2SS that was built on 9/11/23 and that car still hasn't shipped yet. It got stripes installed on 9/13. |
