Accept Chevy already made their money back for the minimal r&d they had to do for the car a long time ago. The 6th gen camaro is a greatest hits of the Gm parts bin. The engine is from the c7 z06 and the platform is from Cadillac. The transmission is either from a truck or the tried and true tr6060. Only thing they did powertrain wise is solve the lt4 overheating issue in term of r&d. Not to mention the zl1 is unchanged from 17-24. There was no reason for the price to go up that much in just 2 years. I guarantee you they are not paying that much more for the parts due to inflation.

That, plus all MY 2023 and 2024 Camaro buyers are extended the privilege of sponsoring gm's costly EV transition.
