Agreed. Really having doubts about whether I should continue if they are going to poke our eyes out, pretty obvious they don't care.

These cars are literally the same cars that came out back in 2016. GM already made their money back for the r&d early in the history of the 6th gen. Most of it was made before the car was even sold. The platform came out in 2012 I believe (Cadillac), the engine came out in 2014 (c7) and the trans is the tried and true tr6060 which yes they added rev match too, or the 8/10 speed which are from their trucks and SUV’s and we all know how many of those get sold per year.
This.

Procrastination kills

This should not surprise anyone. Have you driven by any make car lot? Empty of new cars with maybe an exception for a couple of stock bare bones minimally optioned cars. Can't find trucks either. So, dealerships can and will charge you for the privilege of buying a new or ordered car. I read here and GM authority mid-March of the demise of the Camaro and January 2024 being the last builds. My hamster brain said, If I wait until the 2024 ordering season, the limited build time/build num's and new model year prices will be jack up. I opted for a 2023 2SS-1LE and went allocation shopping in March. After a little work, I found and built my 2SS-1LE, delivered this month at MSRP.
This supply and demand is by design and will not get better! Grab what you can now! IMHO

Evidently, I waited too long by about a month to place my 2023 order, cause I worried about the same thing, jacked prices. I waited because I wanted to see what the CE was going to offer. Knowing GM, I should've known better.

Exactly correct and my thoughts too. Very lucky I found a 2023 ZL1 on the lot and available. I immediately snagged it, now I am canceling on my ordered 2023 2SS 1LE.

If you can compromise radiant red for Sharkskin with no sunroof, I can get you in touch with the sales guy since I am canceling. Charlotte, NC area with July delivery. Save $2,600 and uncertain wait times. Message me if interested.

Good luck on getting the best possible outcome with your order. I'm going to let the dust settle and see what my dealer has to say.

I did see a Silverado in SGM out on the road about an hour ago. I'm gonna miss that color.

The purpose of such a large increase is to help with electric R&D.
A very good used C7 maybe a smarter long term investment.

Used c7 prices are through the roof. My plan the whole time (pre pandemic) was to get a used zl1. We used to be able to get 2-3 year old zl1’s for mid 40’s. Now those same zl1’s are 5-6 years old and minimum 55k. Because of this, I currently have an order for a 23 2ss 1LE. If I’m spending 50k+ the car has to be new, not 6 years old. Also considered used grand sports but like I said used c7 prices are through the roof as are all used Camaros. Used 1le’s I think are priced the silliest of them all.

Already did that. That's why I was trying to get back into a Camaro. C7s are great, but with the benefit of having owned a 19 & 21, the tech in the Camaro is the deal breaker. For the money, it's more fun to drive.

Thank you very much! It just misses the mark, but I appreciate the help.
If it were SGM with a sunroof, I'd have been interested.

My original intention was to buy a 2018 or 19 C7 vert , 7spd, dual mode Stingray. But as others say , they are pricey and most have had multiple owners which is a turnoff.
So I reconsidered and put an order in for a 23 Vert LT-1 Vert, 6spd, DM. It wasn't picked up so I decided to upgrade an ordered a 24 2SS , 6spd and DM. The price increase of 5% has me wondering (and p.o.ed).
C7 prices are high , might drop this winter.
Decisions, decisions...

Well, props for admitting that. Most people blame others. Wish you luck.

My opinion, the 6th gens are better values. Which I couldn't have been more surprised by. One of things that has me upset at GM was realizing that the C7s were short changed on options that the C8s got. Like a rear view camera/mirror, LOVED that on my previous 6th gens, no side objection detection or backup sensors, the radio screen resolution is about 3/4 as good so details when backing up at night/dark are not good.
And I do not like the 7 spd, gear ratios don't work as well as the 6spd does with the same LT1, both cars have to the same power, albeit the gas mileage nod does go to the C7. Still, if I don't end up getting a 2024, I guess I'll just have to live with it (poor me)

I decided to secure a 2023 ZL1 at $2k over msrp rather than waiting for my 2024 ZL1 order (and maybe the allocation)
