I don't have anything that'll be installed at the dealership when my order gets there. How long will the dealership have my order before I can sign the paperwork and leave? I know they have to unload it and there's an inspection, but what else has to be done? Does it take hours, days? I'm just curious as to how much longer I'll have to wait. It's so close it's killing me lol

I picked my car up the same day it arrived at the dealership, so it only took whatever the time was for the basic pre-delivery inspection. I also asked them to leave all the plastic on and not to wash it, so that saved some time too.

You should be able to take delivery within 24hrs, that's next day or late the next day, it shouldn't be longer than that.

Mentioning plastic has me wondering, I don't see any white plastic on the cars sitting in the lots on the satellite pictures. Do they not put it on anymore? Or is it clear these days?

The car may be ready anywhere from 3 hours up to a couple of weeks. It depends on the dealership, how many units there are ahead of you, how many appointments that have, etc.

The car itself is typically ready within a few hours, given there is no reconditioning required or dealer installed accessories. It gets unloaded, protections removed, gone through PDI, washed, and the rest is paperwork.

There was white plastic on mine when I picked her up, along with plenty of the clear plastic on the interior bits. Got the satisfaction of peeling it all off when I took delivery!

I was the same way last year waiting for my 22' 1SS 1LE. Found it towards the end of last June. Called dealer and put deposit on car. 6 weeks later car was at my dealer. Arrived 8-11-12 and I picked it up 8-12-22. No fun waiting. But soon you will have your car.
