Well ain’t that a kick in the head… Or tire that is
Well had this happen tonight, never had a wheel weight clip in a tire before. Luckily after 3 plugs I was able to fill it enough to limp it home. Of course this happens the one day of the week I drive her instead of one of the other 2 cars WITH A SPARE.
Never had a wheel weight in the tire before though, what’s some of the dumbest stuff you all have had? |

The day I got my brand new ZLE my salesman had to fill the tank up and after 10 min he was back at the shop with a nail in a tire. If there’s anything I’ve learned in life it’s to just accept that stuff will happen and either you’ll be happy in life or you’ll be a miserable person. Murphy’s law.

This spring I decided to run my winter tires (General AT2's) on my truck all summer, as they are now 8 years old and have about 40K on them. I'm going to replace them in the fall. I got in a couple weeks ago to back out of the garage and my Tire pressure sensor went off telling me I had 20psi in my tire. When I backed out, I saw a 1/2" bolt head sticking out of my tire. I was glad I didn't put on my newer summer tires.

When you've worked at Goodyear, you see everything possible get pulled out of a tire. The most unique I'd say was the top half of a spark plug. Worst one I've had myself?
I was in the Navy reserves on drill weekend and going back to the reserve center from lunch in my truck, and I kept hearing this loud clicking noise going down the freeway, so I pull over and I find a VW lug stud sticking out of the center of the LR tire. I had to put the spare on in my dress whites. FUN |

Based on the visible cracking of the rubber, that tire might need replacing anyway. Is that a nitto 555?

On business years ago I thought about drag racing my rental Mustang while watching at Palmdale, Ca. I pulled up to sign in and while in line I noticed a 3/8 bolt in the left front tire. NOPE. Luckily it held air enough to return the car and fly home. Fairly lucky on my own stuff.

I worked at Firestone back in the late '80s, pulled a pair of needle nose pliers out of a truck tire. They went clean through to the inside of the tire and were still functional too.

That's my personal weird one as well.
3/8 hex head bolt, probably 2 1/2 to 3" long. At least it went in threaded side first. Spent a lot of time thinking how perfectly that bolt had to be situated and how perfectly the tire had to hit it to break through the tread and the belts. |

I would prefer a puncture over a blowout due to that cracked rubber you've got there.

Back in the ‘90s I ran over a spark plug in my 1987 IROC Z28 and of course the top portion punctured the tire in between the tread causing a quick flat tire. Another time I ran over a brick that was laying in the road that I couldn’t see due to other cars ahead and bent a part of the outside of the right front wheel on my 1998 Camaro SS. I had to buy a new wheel and tire which I was very unhappy about.

The worst I've had is an old style GM ignition key in mine

Small update, luckily I got warranties for all tires at discount, so I’ll at least be getting 1 replacement covered. Also brought up the cracking on both rears to the rep considering these just hit 3 years but got hit with the “oh that’s normal in az for dry rot to hit them faster”. Oh well, was planning on not swapping until I drive her more in early winter this year but hey might as well do it now.
