When you order a Camaro with rally stripes, are they put on during the production at the Lansing plant during painting, or do they ship it off site to have it done?

What I am wondering is, does it take extra time for them to put on the stripes after production is finished or is it done at the same time?

I believe they are an LPO item, and thus are dealer installed.

I was able to find that on another thread. Hopefully that's the case.

I had the rally stripes done at my dealer and they did a terrible job. There were bubbles and the stripes were put over dust. Also the stripes for the trunk and for the rear spoiler were too short.

They have ordered a second set of stripes and this time the installation was done in a specialty shop. The second set of stripes were also too short (trunk and spoiler, hood was fine). I asked the guy to put the stripe that goes normally on the trunk, on the spoiler and to cut the extra material. My sales guy also told me that normally the stripes are put at the dealer. I've checked the satellite picture of the Lansing Grand River plant and I saw cars with rally stripes, so they are really done at the factory. Also I guess they have enough stickers at the factory to make a good job. My conclusion is DO NOT BUY THEM FROM THE DEALER ORDER DIRECTLY FROM THE FACTORY if you want to avoid problems.

Yeah, I had mine as a factory option so I'm hoping they are done there.
