MOBIL 5W50 SUPERCAR OIL FOR DRAG RACING A 2019 ZL1; LT4

I WAS LOOKING TO RUN THIS OIL FOR DRAG RACING, I WAS GOING TO GET MY OIL CHANGE DONE IN THE NEXT DAY OR 2. I WAS JUST LOOKING FOR FEEDBACK OR ANY OPINIONS ON RUNNING THIS OIL. I DO BELIEVE 5W WONT MAKE A DIFFERENCE, I WARM MY CAR UP FULLY EVERYTIME BEFORE DRIVING. I FIGURED 5W50 WOULD BE A BETTER CHOICE THAN 15W50. THANKS AGAIN. |

I was talking with another guy that races his car regularly and he was concerned that he couldnt find information on the shearing? (I think) number associated with it so he suggested I stick with the 15W-50 which is known as adequate. Also, this oil is spec'd for the ZO6 and they've had some failures with no clear indication of cause as far as I know.

Interesting… my goal was to change it out at 3k, my car is a weekend toy and I figured 2 Friday night street legals, 3-4 passes each time, before changing it again.

I run the 15w50 in the summer and 5w30 in the winter. Mobil 1 on both.
