not really bro, the 10-speed alleviated many issues that the 8-speed had for SS and ZL1, they replaced it for SS and ZL1 the issues that the 8-speed had, but it remained for V6 and turbo 4 and for the trucks

Thumbs down Bummed!

I have a 2SS automatic convertible Commemorative Edition, so I wanted to add a 2.0T manual coupe Collector Edition, but I learned today that it's been dropped.

Oh well, now you can't have the 4-banger and have to go for another 2SS Not exactly a loss in my book.

Nah, I don't think another V8 will add more pleasure than my current one. I was wanting a different driving experience so I could alternate.

Well, the V6 is still an option then. I had it for a while and wasn't impressed, it revs higher but isn't nearly as powerful as the V8 or even the I4 (makes less torque).

By the way, the 6th gen is a completely different beast in terms of handling and more modern niceties from your 2015, so getting another SS may add some extra pleasure if/when you hit the twisties or, say, you want to use wireless Android Auto/CarPlay etc.

Get a 2SS with MR - it is a night and day difference from a 5th gen, especially in a convertible. I went from a 2012 convertible to a 2016 convertible with MR and even my wife noticed how much the ride smoothed out. And the handling is also much better.

PDXSSCE, I think GM dropped the 4 cylinder as a middle finger statement to the government. If you are going to shut us down from making muscle cars (I have seen the federal statute) then we are are going out with a bang: gross emitters. The V6 only gets 1mpg better then the V8. Nice statement GM and Chrysler did it too.

Yeah, they're definitely not doing that. The actual reason is probably because the Camaro was the only vehicle left that was using the LTG engine. It's very likely that they've just reached the life cycle of that engine.

well, the order guide is out and 1LS is gone and the 4 banger 2.0L turbo motor is gone and the 8-speed transmission is out as well, 1LS should have not existed and why GM should need my support, camaro is done for, as is

Regarding a ZL1 package.

From what I can gather from reading the option lists. You can't get carbon fiber instrument panel trim now unless its the collectors edition? What used to be the 500$ add on option? **EDIT** is the subscript just saying its "standard" on the collectors edition. But still available as an addon on standard ZL1's

Also, I noticed for "Custom launch control" it says available only on automatic transmissions, does or will the manual still have the linelock and launch control feature? Maybe it says that because the SS is an option as well but its standard across all ZL1's regardless of transmission? I am looking at ordering a manual, but I do plan to run it at the track every now and then, so the launch control would be nice. From my research, they did have it in the past on manuals if I'm not mistaken.

Also says Performance video and data recorder is only available with the 1LE package now too? Does this only pertain to the SS, but its available on any ZL1? Thoughts on this? I guess time will tell once the live ordering becomes available.

Are the polished lug nuts under the center caps? Is all you have to do is remove the center cap or are lug nuts or anything else required to get this look? I can't believe how much it changes the looks of these wheels for the better with the caps removed. Trying it input an order on the 15th, originally not interested in this wheel, for sure like the wheels in this picture. I can't picture anything better on Riptide Blue.

Appreciate any responses

Thanks

Looks like only 1SS and 2SS require 1LE in order to select RPO UQT performance data and video recorder option; this footnote is marked with (1) and (2). For ZL1 coupe, a different footnote (3) only states that selecting a performance data and video recorder deletes RPO UEU forward collision alert.

Just released info. 350 zl1 collector editions produced, with 300 of those staying in the US. Good luck getting one.

Gearhead alluded to this in post 1 and confirmed it in post 50 (10 days ago) of this thread.
