Haha

GT4 would be great if you live on a mountain road, but just about anything else a ZL1 is going to consistently beat it

I get my lightweight "go cart" mountain road thrills out on the bike (currently S1000RR) which blows just about any car short of a 720S off the map and I can trailer it anywhere

No way I'm spending $100k on a car (plus insurance and blah blah), even though I have it to spare - that money is being invested

I am so glad I am moving to a mid-engine platform.

PDK GT4 w/ launch control 3.6 and over 200hp less.

Bringing this thread back from the dead to serve its original purpose!

I ran a best time of 4.13 0-60 and 3.88 (1ft rollout). PTM Sport 1, 3700rpm, 10% slip target, about 28psi cold in the tires, and on stock GY SC3s. I’m pretty happy with that. I only ran it twice, so I’m sure I could do better with hotter tires and maybe a lower launch RPM.

One thing that’s weird though is the car seemed to start hitting the limiter just before 60 which slowed my time down a little bit. I thought this car would do 63mph in first gear?

What times have you guys done?

I haven't tested the zl1 because it's kinda tough to launch, especially when it's cold out. The rs3 best is 2.9 and the Tesla I haven't actually timed but they'll do 3.2 to 60. I would be happy with a 3.6 in the zl1. Hoping the suspension mods I did last week will help it hook up better. I may still need to get a better tire back there too

Nice times. AWD is king for sure. 650 horsepower is no good in a front engine RWD stick car lol. Accelerates to 60 about the same as an SS with 200 less horsepower.

Speaking of suspension mods I should add that I do have the BMR rear cradle lockout as well as the BMR front cradle braces.

True, but 0-60 isn't the end all, be all. Try to hit the pedal at 65 mph in an SS and you'll instantly feel how different a ZL1 or something with even more power is.

Oh I know. Once it’s going the thing pulls like a freight train. I plan on doing some 60-130 testing soon too. It’s my preferred acceleration measurement as it’s much kinder to the drivetrain. I just wanted to try out launch control and see what dumping the clutch on a 650 horsepower car was like .

I did the cradle thing, all the bushings, trailing arms, and control arms. It made a noticeable difference for sure. I haven't put the pedal to the floor on a launch, but if I'm at a low speed and I roll into it hard, it squats and stays straight

And yes, the Tesla doesnt have nearly the same balls as the zl1 when you're going above 70mph or so. The rs3 does, but even that feels different from the Camaro. The Tesla is quick. The rs3 is FAST...The zl1 is a beast.

I did my first couple of 0-60 runs earlier tonight. The first one was with all nannies off and did a 3.60 with a gear shift. The second was with TC set to default and did a 3.9 with a gear shift. I noticed in the video I shifted from 1st to second at 6k rpm @ 55mph and am wondering if I could have shaved a little time by running it all in first gear if that is possible. It's a 2021 ZLE 6spd.

Top speed against the limiter in 1st gear is 62 mph for the ZLE M6. 0-60 times won’t include a gear change - it’s all in 1st gear. In any circumstance other than trying to ring the 0-60 bell, you shifted at the correct point. I’m personally not impressed by the 0-60 times for this car since it’s such a dog from a dig. It excels in other areas, but off the line it’s…disappointing.
