There is a line from the right rocker cover to the intake. I clipped that line and connected to each end. worked great. the LT1 is much simpler. |

No, catch cans aren't very hard to install if you have basic mechanical skills. Most install with a few hand tools. And most catch cans come with directions or have an install video on the manufacturer's website. I went with a Mishimoto catch can. I've installed Mishimoto brand catch cans on several vehicles I've owned.

. I'd LIKE to THINK I could install one since I work on big military planes for a living(as a civilian).

How do you know that GM didn’t design the engine to burn a minuscule amount of oil for lubrication? Everyone assumes that because the catch can caught oil it’s saving their engine yet its normal for an engine to burn a small bit of oil. Its known that many engines consume oil as part of normal operation including porsche engines. The makers of the engine oil know this and that’s probably why chevy recommends dexos oil is it has additives to keep the valves etc clean and lubricated.

Any unmetered air/fuel/other going into a combustion chamber is not desirable. Modern 4-stroke synthetic oil is not made to cleanly combust and will result in soot/ash/carbon on your valves. Venting the PCV to the atmosphere would be best for your engine, but not the environment, so a closed loop catch-can is a good compromise.

Easiest install ever, that's for sure. Much less drastic consequences if you forget to empty it, too.

That's about as fast as a Mustang as well... At least that one can probably stay on the street!

Does the suction of venting to the intake relieve internal pressure better than venting to atmosphere? The lgx takes crankcase pressure to the intake tube rather than the intake manifold which has more suction.

Negative pressure (relative to atmospheric) in the intake manifold will reduce the pressure in crankcase required to open the pcv valve, since the valve opens according to a static difference in pressure. Likewise, positive pressure in the manifold will raise the relief pressure threshold of the pcv. But, I imagine that when crankcase pressure surges, it does so by a lot, so the margins you're asking about are probably negligible.
