ZL1 1LE UNDER CONSTRAINT AGAIN
https://gmauthority.com/blog/2023/05...er-constraint/
Looks like 2023 ZLE’s are under constraint again. Any thoughts on this or how it will effect values? No too many more months of production.

Well I’m usually wrong and never make money on cars, but I placed my bet on the idea that very few ‘23’s have been built and my guess is fewer to none will get built in ‘24. So yeah I got a manual ‘23. I watch the Chevy website daily and there was only one 1le available in the country and it’s a manual. All the in transit cars are automatics, and they have been in transit for a long time. Only time will tell……

Won't affect values enough to matter. Camaro sales are still in the dumps so its not like people are fighting each other to get one.

A majority of dealers are charging over msrp for everything. So prices aren't going to be really affected. But you can find dealers selling for msrp.
Only place where values are being affected is the private sector where people are wanting msrp for a car with 5k miles and 2 year old car or 10k over msrp for a 2023 with 700 miles. |

ZLE’s will be the highly sought after cars from this generation, but with that said ii don’t even think about money value right now. What I appreciate about the ZLE is the raw driving experience it offers which no amount of cash ROI could ever match. Dealerships will do anything for an extra dollar as well so the ZLE will command a premium over any other model.

I drove both before purchasing, ZLE is more tight it’s not just the harshness of the ride but the dampening makes it feel totally different, combined with the cradle changes and top hats the car is just more laser like and you actually feel the pedal response more.
A ZLE is not for everyone I recently completed a 3hr highway run each way and can tell you the car made me feel exhausted upon arrival. However short drives and track usage never gets old in this car. It’s like the difference between Porsche RS product it’s just a lot sharper than the others in the line. If your not at all a track rat a ZLE is a waste however if you can drive these cars to their potential the only place you can without going to jail is at a track

Constraint does not always mean zero will be built. It can also mean that limited numbers of a variant or specific option are built. Don't give up hope.

Doesn't mean that all orders and allocations won't be built either. It's just a delay in production. Ask the C8 guys how that feels.

This is how I understand it.
A dealer gets an allocation. The dealer or customer creates an order. If the order that is submitted for that allocation has a constraint, it won't go to sequence #2000 until GM decides that particular build falls into their criteria. An example of a limited constraint: GM says they have enough PDRs for xx number to be built that week and the above order has PDR and PDR orders haven't maxed out (so far), they may accept the order and get it in the queue for production. How GM decides which dealer will ultimately get the car built is a mystery sometimes, haha. Another way constraint works, for example, GM may say they have zero PDRs available for the week. So no orders containing PDR will go to sequence #2000 and zero will be built. I think, yeah, sometimes if an order gets to sequence 2000, it may take a while to get to 3000/3100. I think delays at that point are rare.

To add to that parts on the Camaro’s are low priority to the parts suppliers. The PDR is antique compared to the one in the C8, the rear wing from Pratt and Miller would be very low production and who knows about Multimatics priorities? I’m sure there’s more I’m missing.

Also have to add that GM/Chevy has gone all in on the C8 so all parts will be prioritized for the Corvette from now on. The Camaro was the poor man's Corvette so I hope everyone that wants a Camaro can get one. The 6th generation internal combustion engines have put smiles and happiness in people's life.
